Still a few puddles on some sections of firetrail. The singletrack is pretty much totally dry.

bb and derailleurs
i think my bottom bracket is a shimano octalink but not sure unless i take it off, and was wondering if it is compatable with any bb if i was to upgrade it or do i need to get another shimano. the bike is an avanti barracuda 2004 or 05 model- it had the red squarish frame with manitou axel fork and also how do i tell if my derailluer is a long or short cage?
Canberra
Am thinking of going to Canberra for the October long weekend. I have never riden there before and am extermely keen to have an explore. I am looking for advice from those that have been there and done it and interest from anyone that maybe keen to join us. I would really like to camp - is this an option and if so where abouts - it would be nice to kick back and have a few beers around a fire if possible.

Saturday morning Oxy fun!
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Morgan Road, Belrose. At the second 90 degree right hand bend in the road. There's an area just before you can park and a firetrail heading off to the left.
So, I've got a few spare hours on Saturday morning, and hopefully taking an overseas friend out for a ride. I figured I'd post the ride up, so that you know about it!
Anyone's welcome to come along - definitely the more the merrier when Oxford Falls is concerned 
And having enough for shuttling makes it all the better!
Riding is definitely on the FR side of DH, and you'll definitely want a bike on the bigger end of the scale.

Asking a massive favour!
Hi All,
I'm posting here as I'm hoping someone can help me out. I know it's really late notice, and my chances are probably pretty slim, but I might as well ask and see what happens.
I'm hoping I can borrow someone's DH bike for some riding on Saturday. It would need to me a Small sized bike, or smallish Medium would probably also work...
So, here's the longer version of the story...
Abused By a Cycle Courier This Evening
So yeah was abused by a cycle courier this evening on my ride home from work, I was basically riding over the bridge heading towards North Sydney and when I got on the bridge, I could see a light in the distance so put some effort in to try and catch up, basically I managed to pass and over take this soon to be abusive rider and continued and infact increased my speed on the downhill before getting to the steps.
However Mr Courier person did not like this as, he proceeded to bark at me "Up Up" over take me and then proceed to abuse me for passing him and swearing at me as well.
