Re: brake and discs problems
Hello, just got Orbea sherpa back from service
and has already started spontaneously locking up in the rear brakes, very sketchy when
going full pelt down hill plus front wheel screeches :S im guessing that is a bent disc?.
Apart from taking it back and demanding a re work, is there any simple ideas/ tips that may
tell me what the issue is and how to remedy it.
similarly its a first time service at cycle sport thornleigh, at the moment dont recommend it
cheers jeremy

Short Social Night Ride - Terry Hills
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Echunga Road (Japanese School).
We may head back for a meal at the Tavern. Not sure yet.
Short easy ride.
Check out the Royal Night Ride on the same night. I would go to that but I live in Thornleigh and it's a long drive to Loftus (on a school night) for a short night ride. Did the drive for the last trail-work-day, planning to ride there one day soon. The trails there look good. Quite popular too.

Can anyone advise me on whether that shock will be OK for my bike?

Northern Beaches HR Burns update - Track & Road Closures
More HR burns this coming weekend:
The major NPWS HR burn planned for Tuesday this week in & next to KCNP in the Duffys Forest area of the Northern Beaches Area, has been postponed to Friday 2nd October
Therefore the following tracks will now be closed to all access from Friday 2nd October until further notice:
Duffys Trail, Slades Trail, Cullamine Trail, Booralie Trail & Bibbenluke Trail.Anyone ignoring the track closed signs that will be in place will be risking up to a $500 fine & potentially their lives due to the high danger of falling trees.
Anyone found on those tracks or roads while closed will also be putting fire fighting personnel at risk as they will have to be removed before the HR can continue.
We will have helicopter surveillance of the whole area during the burn.

first time
had to finally go and find the dam
and find our way around it too
so this is the sighting lap too
couple of hill waits, watch a flat, watch a chain brake, look the view
balk at the bigger obstacles
proud to ride some of the slightly hard uphill bits to the roads along the downhill NE side

weight - time differences
Funny question but what is the general consensus regarding weight and time. My argument is that my particular bike is 4Kg's heavier than the next bike down in the group I ride with. What I try to maintain is that I must be a lot fitter than them as I can just about keep up with them (they hang back for me) and if I had a bike that weighed the same as theirs, then I should at least be able to ride 'with' them rather than behind.
So - 4kgs weight diffference - what would that equate to round Manly Dam? 2 mins,5?

Sunday, silly o clock training ride.

Usually Loftus Oval, Sutherland, just off the Princes Highway.
Want to leave Loftus Oval car park at 06:30, head along a bit of the single track in the RNP, then a bit of scumming down to Lady Carrigton Drive, all the way along LCD to some more scumming up to Waterfall. This is where I could get a little lost, but I know there’s a fire trail that goes down to the Woronora dam which is the intended route. From there its back to Heathcote along the pipeline across the Princes Highway and back into the RNP to ride the single track and fire trail back to Loftus Oval.
