Future improvements to Manly Dam?
Forgive me if this has been widely discussed but I couldn't find anything.
I'm somewhat aware of the inability we have when it comes to input regarding to Manly Dam. From the discussions I've read here the rangers at this stage aren't interested in suggestions we've made and are more interested in sustainability and safety for multi-use.

Front Fork - Leaking a bit - Do I need to service it?
After I ride, the right leg of my fork has a bit of black oil on the section above the rubber seal, while the left fork leg is fine. I have had the bike 18 months and never serviced the forks. Do I need a service or is fine to continue riding with. I don't particularly want to spend $100 on new seals and fork service, but if it needs to be done then so be it. Don't want to cause any long term damage.

Grrr puncture, can you patch a side-wall?
Bloody puncture on the way in today... and stupidly i only had 1.5" tubes for my commuter in my backpack.... a problem when I'm riding in my 2.5" tyre giant to work....
Couldn't get any pressure in to seal the bead onto the rims and had to ride gingerly in the rest of the way on a half inflated unsealed wobbly rear tyre... I tell you it really plushes out the bumps though, lol
and to add insult to injury I have a sidewall gash about 1cm...

Anti-social Night Ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
As discussed... let's do this tomorrow (sorry, but can't make tonight now).
Plan is to ride the usual Duck Hole, Centre, Perimeter, Long route.
Won't be going crazy but don't intend on stopping as it will probably be a bit chilly. Should take somewhere between 2h15 and 2h30.

Serious Cyclists May Develop Low Bone Density
Seems cycling may be a bit too low impact for some...
http://www.singletracks.com/blog/mtb-training/se...
However, it's not all bad news:
Earlier studies have shown that mountain bikers tend to have better bone densities than road cyclists...
Wonder if 20 years of squash prior to being a cycling convert means I'll be safe?

Tuesday Afternoon Training ride at Stromlo
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Uriarra Road, just up from the Uriarra Road/Coppins Crossing Road turnoff.
This ride is for the lost or lonely to meet and greet the wonderful trails of Stromlo before the Scott 24 in October and all are welcome to join me , the lonely.....ha ha . There are six newly marked trails here so not sure of which ones i will do, but the plan would be to make the most of the afternoon and have a good look around here without the crowds that will arrive in October .
There is more than 24 hours notice given that its 3.10 now so make an effort , just a casual drive down the Hume Hwy and plenty of fun to be had here

Aussies go well at the world 24
Well done to Jason English for coming in first place, in what sounds like a tough race (isn't it always?). He had a really tough fight with Tony Hogg at the start until Tony pulled out with a back problem, the pace sounded crazy fast.
Andy Fellows came in 3rd.
Richard Rothwell (UK) in 8th (cat place 1) yay!
Jason McAvoy went well with a ninth place
Jess Douglas came in forth, in what sounded like a VERY hard race for her.

Torpedo cycle case
Has anyone tried a Torpedo7 bike case which is on special this week? http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/T7BCCNN00
At $229, the price looks good, but I am concerned by the weight 13kg and question mark about what bikes will actually fit.
