Sydney Spring Fat Tyre Festival - 2007 Lap

Ride Database Entry:
Ourimbah State Forest

This is the course used for Sydney Spring Fat Tyre Festival - 8 1/4 hrs of Power (2007).

This profile is recored from lap one, which started down by the bottom carpark and climbed up firetrail to allow the field to spread out before hitting single track (where the actual course for subsiquent laps started). It's a nice intro to Ourimbah and that climb on the firetrail allows a nice warm up before the single track.

2007 8 1/4 Hours of Power (or lack of)

Well here’s a quick summary of this years 8 ¼ Hours of Power at Ourimbah. It didn’t start off well as we lost one member due to illness before the start so that left Harry and I to ride in a pairs team (I was hoping for a cruisy day!).

The Wall

(no, not another brick ...)

Ouch. I think they are still scraping my body bits off the wall.

Managed to do 4 laps yesterday but I think I already hit the wall in the 2nd lap. The short pinches were painful after the first lap. I was also cramping on all the laps bar the first one (probably 3 times in each lap). And I had cramps in the same spot on each lap (I think the spot was after some pinch climbs). I didn't have such problems at Penrose or Dirtworks last year.

Apart from that, Ourimbah was a fun course. I haven't riden so much singletrack since Penrose.
