Dirtworks 2007 Results
Following a fantastic weekend in St Albans and surrounds it's time to check the scores on the doors. Not that most of us were competitive, we were just out to have fun. A couple of folk forgot that though and posted a bloody good time - hats off guys!
The weekend seemed to go down very well going by discussing in Dirtworks Post-mortem (any comments in there please). Hopefully there's not too much lasting pain, if any at all.Looking forward to the coming trips over next couple of months and more of the same [ erm... ish ;) ].
So here they are: Dirtworks Classic 2007 results for NoBMoBers:

Manly Dam night Ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
Looking to set up a semi-regular Wednesday night ride. Let's start this week. So 1 lap.
Pace won't be scorching. I aint that fit! but will be reasonable to get around before it's too late.
As this will be in the dark... All riders MUST have sufficient experience to cope with the technical sections at night. And MUST carry sufficiently bright lights that will last the distance.
Fun is and a sense of humour is also mandatory!
I'll be there with out car on a Black Turner 5-spot and very bright HIDs! Looking something like this http://nobmob.com/node/1718

Dirtworks Post-mortem
A very satisfying (for the most part) and somewhat eventful weekend at the Dirtworks. Plenty fun I think, although personally, I'd rather not experience this again (which is no-one's fault but my own).
My MB profile is here:
http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/2662125
If you have a profile or time and want to share please do - I'll slap a table up, we had some cracking times so well done all!
For me, as I say on MB, "First 50 looking good, around 70Ks beginning to falter, last 20Ks - pure hell! Didn't eat/drink enough to keep the early pace going. Doh!"

Dirtworks Disaster
OK, so - the 'eventful' Dirtworks this year?
As I say on MB, "First 50 looking good, around 70Ks beginning to falter, last 20Ks - pure hell! Didn't eat/drink enough to keep the early pace going. Doh!"
As I often joke, I should write a book about what not to do on an MTB. On this occasion the planning was probably OK, but poorly executed I suffered for it.

All-Round Bike
I'm currently riding a 2002 Norco VPS atomik. It's great, but heavy and not enough gears. I'm looking for a more allround bike, want to spend about $2000. obviously dualie, discs, reasonable travel, No crazy 8" DH monsters, reasonably light. Anybody have any ideas, what are you riding, what do you like? any opinions welcome.
Been looking at Mongoose Teocali, Giant reign???
Would love a S-works enduro, but who has $7000 for a bike.
cheers
