Canberra Rd Trip Day 3 Majura Pines-- Note this ride is now changed to Stromlow
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Majura Pines
Day 3: Again a late start to allow for what might be a late night Saturday.
No idea about Majura Pines other than it is meant to be nice single track similar to Sparrow hill.
Will leave Sunday arvo open for the moment. If Majura Pines isn't big enough we can head back to Sparrow Hill or maybe somewhere else after lunch.
Definitly looking for a local or someone with trail knowledge to tag along and lead this one. If you can please post back or PM me to let me know.

Canberra Rd Trip Day 2 Sparrow hill
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Sparrow Hill
Day 2: a later than usual start to allow those coming down from Sydney the chance to get there in time.
This place is by far the best place I have ever ridden and think a day there should be no probs at all.
As a suggestion we start with a group ride of the full loop, back to the cars for a BBQ lunch or maybe a run back into Queenbeyan for lunch, then back onto the trails for an arvo of fun. Maybe roid boys can do a quick lap and the rest of us can go back to the particularly sweet parts, lets play all that by ear.

Canberra Rd Trip Mt Stromlow
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
First time there so lets meet at the designated spot on the ride gallery and take it from there
The first ride in what shall be a very long weekend in the saddle. First time at Stromlow and unfortunately I believe only the XC track will be open but lets go and explore.
Don't forget Friday is not a public holiday so you will probably need to take the day off if you want to join us.
If we have any Canberra / local "lurkers" that would like to play tour guide barbie then please let us know.
All welcome.

Mud Mud and more Mud
Just got back from a Red Hill solo ride out to the lookout then did up to the motorcross track then the loop and back up hill to the jump park , as you can see from my bike it is still very muddy with some of the clay like glue with some puddles deep enough to go over the cranks.
Now for some cleaning.

Missing Images?
Erm... has anybody noticed that sometimes images from our site don't load properly? I mean, there's a place holder on the page with a little red cross top left where you'd imagine a nice, shiny image should be?
I think there's something funny going on with some firewalls and IE6 (same firewall, FF doesn't seem to be a problem), but can't be sure.
Please comment below if you aren't seeing the site in all it's... erm... glory?

Roof or towbar racks?
Hi there,
Newbie here just getting back into riding and looking for the best options to carry two bikes around. At the moment I do not have a tow bar or roof racks (car has build in rails) so my two options are.
1: Buy a tow bar and bike rack for the back of the car which could be expensive considering I need the tow bar as well as the rack.
2: Get roof racks (which I could use for other purposes) and some racks for my roof.
I'm just curious about peoples opinions on the two types of racks and if there is a particular brand that anyone would recommend.
Thanks!

Maintenance Seminar - anyone want to come??
Hi,
After the crap weather we've all been subjecting our bikes to there has been a bit of chat about servicing and maintaining the bike. A few people suggested maintenance seminars and I know Bike Addiction in Manly will do one on demand if there are at least two people. I've also checked out Renegade's site and the link on their maintenance seminar is below.

GPS - recommendations?
Hi Folks,
I've been looking around for a while for a hand-held GPS unit for a variety of uses.
Mostly for easy street navigation around Sydney & 'burbs. However I would also like to use it for plotting my MTB rides and off-road navigation.
I've found some potentially useful tools (GPSBabel etc) for converting GPS data to KML/KMZ files for Google Earth etc so I can easily display the data.
Now what I'd like to know is what sort of GPS units do the group use (if any)?
I've been thinking a Garmin Nuvi 300 or Navman N60i (which has the benefit/gimmick of NavPix)

Disc brakes...lil help please!
Here I am again asking for help..with my brakes.

Have read the Avid manual and tried to remove pads completely.
