Specialised FutureShock Fox Problems

2012 model, when I sit on my bike the rear shock compresses all the way, actually pushes o-ring off the shaft, I've checked air pressure. Can anyone shed some light on this please, or is it a case of leave it for the experts?

FOR THOSE INTERESTED, HERE'S THE STORY BEHIND IT.

An acquaintance of mine used and loved this bike for several years. He was driving when a car rear-ended him with the bike on the back, jamming the frame into the bike rack. The insurance compensated him 1.5k for the this, which he used to buy an Anthem 29er, that he'd been planning to buy anyway. However, as he didn't need the GF, he gave it to me to use as a spare.

This bike is older than I am! It's far from light, quite rusty and creaks a bit when riding it, but I rode it 6km to and from Hornsby station many a time last year and never had an issue (it excelled in being a low theft temptation!) I got given a slightly newer model from it so naturally use it for that commuting purpose, but am thinking this bike could be used by the buyer for that purpose. Taken it off road a few times (I.e., the annual BMORC bash), and probably not the best weapon for the Convict 100 (Laughing out loud), but perfectly good for a parent riding with their child.

SRAM Singletrack Mind Series Round 3

When:
Sunday, 29 September, 2013 - 08:00

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Awaba State Forest
Meeting Point:

Just up Jenkins Road from corner with Mount Faulk Road.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

The SRAM Singletrack Mind Series features five mountain bike endurance events, of 7 or 8 hours duration. They will take you to five different locations in NSW, each one renowned for its flowing singletrack and fun factor.

Awaba MTB Park in the Lower Hunter Valley is a perennial favourite and, as we found last year, pretty tough when the heat is on! It's been the scene for the Series final over the past 2 years but in 2013 we're putting it slap bang in the middle of the Series!

This is the new date for the race that was to be held on 23 June, and postponed due to bad weather.

Yellomundee Regional Park update for 22 Jun

Status:
Green/Open

First time there in a couple of years. Changes to the course meant I got lost a few times. Couldn't find the northern loop in the low lying bushes but bumped into the only other rider out there (odd there was only 1 car when the weather was as good as it gets!) who told me it washed away some time back. The tech section after crossing the creek at the southern and highest part of the track was a lot of fun.

Go-Pro chest mount for $20

Just received an email from Deal Extreme advertising their new arrivals and noticed this offer. I don't have a go-pro but I'm sure there are plenty on here who do.

From experience, deal extreme can take up to a month to arrive and quality of items may not always be great but this mount may well be worth a punt.

Zoning Threats to Cromer/Red Hill/Oxford Fall trails and bushland - IMPORTANT

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi All,

Today The NSW Department of Planning issued a draft strategic report for the Oxford Falls/Cromer area.

The draft report suggest zoning almost the entire Red Hill/Oxford Falls area E3 – see their map 7 on the link below.
E3 allows a wide range of development including schools, residential etc. It also allows recreational activities.
The risk of E3 zoning is that without constraint, our bushland can become fully developed.
