Melbourne - worth taking your bike
Just got back from a couple of weeks in Melbourne. I took my bike down because I was driving and had plently of room and thought I would try out a few of the local trails. Riders in Melbourne are pretty lucky with so much legal single track close by in State / Regional Parks. Here are some of the trails I rode:
Lysterfield Park - about 40 minutes South East of the CBD. This consists of around 20kms of extremely well maintained singletrack that was well signposted. There is even a Trailmix bike store located there with bike hire, information, coffee, maps and clinics.

Ourimbah (or Appin) Sunday 17th
I'll be free of oversees guests soon so looking to go a bit further afield than the Dam, anybody fancy Ourimbah on the 17th, thinking around 9am? I see I just missed an Appin ride which is a shame.

Early Ourimbah
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.
My 1st time at Ourimbah - looking at doing 2 or 3 loops. Probably not the downhill - however open at this stage. Want to start at around 6:30am, however have posted 7am to give me time to get up there.

Dam conditions
The Trail conditions for manly dam havent been updated in 5 days so i thought i'd ask the question, how is it looking?

Ourimbah early Wednesday
I am thinking about going up to Ourimbah early Wednesday (be there by ~6:30am) morning for my 1st ride up there. Happy for others to show interest or provide tips as it looks a little confusing for a 1st timer. If there is interest I will post. Hopefully weather starts improving. Where is this sun that keeps getting advertised?
