Snowy Mountains
Arrived in Jindabyne on Saturday morning and went for a ride with my mate near the Tyrolean Village (Stuart's favourite track!).
It is tricky and steep, so a little bit hike a bike. Also it is not used much, surprised Stuart?, you can see, that some of the tracks are not used much at all.

Terrey Hills night ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Terrey Hills Tavern
The usual Wednesday night ride at Terrey Hills. Given the rain it'll be best to stick to Duck Holes and Centre tracks before heading back to the Tavern for a beer!
Let's try to park on the street this time to avoid any more hassles with the pub's management.

Driving is so slow
Well I had to drive from Hornsby to the CBD this morning as I have to go to Holsworthy after work to shoot at things. Man does peak hour traffic suck. It took me 1hr 15min. Same time as it takes me to ride into work.
The new $4 toll and cashless bridge sure don't seem to make much of a difference in speed heading into the city.

Menai Mid Week Ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
By the sports field on Old Illawarra Road, Barden Ridge.
I've changed the time of this ride due to the regulars not being available this week and no other takers. I'm not brave, or should I say stupid enough to ride at night on my own, so I'll be starting earlier.
If any one can make the earlier time you're more than welcome to join me.
The ride will include some great single track, some tricky technical sections, up and down.
This ride will probably not suit a beginner due to some of the trickier bit's.

Free to good home - used track pump - read carefully
Hi All, I have a Serfas TCPG track (floor) pump that I no longer need, free to a good home.
It does, however, have two issues and would suit someone who likes fixing things, or doesn't need a pump that does Presta (French) bike tyre valves:
* Pressure dial plate/needle keep moving off centre, which affects readings. You can probably sort by placing a needle stop on the dial plate and gluing the dial plate with a dab of shoo goo in one corner.

FS: 4 x Hayes Brake Pads *** SOLD ***
Having a clean out... I have here four sets of Hayes brake pads looking for a new home (as I now run Avids). They look like this:
2 sets of Alligator brand, brand new in shrink wrap. On T7 currently 15 bucks an end (http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/ALBZPN8BP)
2 sets of EBC (I think they are EBC). These have a blue back with "G+" printed on them. I carried them inside a small plastic box between foam on the trail and are in perfect condition. Never used.

Yellowmundee XC Entertainment
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
There's a car park (click for foggy picture) on Springwood Road - just down the way from Hawkesbury Heights if you're looking for a suburb name.
Here is one of the nicest XC courses around and it's paticularly nice in the late afternoon.
There is nothing really hard about the track, other than the usual difficulties one would experience on a track they've never been on before. It gets a bit tight in places and some trees are known to leap out in front of those not paying attention.
The climbs aren't overly tough and the descents are rather straight forward. A good place for the less experienced.
Ride pace will be medium.

Snakes !!!
After running over a beautiful brown snake yesterday on a firetrail in my neck of the woods (Campbeltown)and i was going too fast ( 30 odd k) nah read too scared, to look and see what it did after meeting Maxxis . I have noticed quite a few of these beautiful creatures and was wondering how many others have seen these guys around the tracks you ride this summer . Of all the snakes i have seen only one , a 2 metre plus black has reared up at me and just as quickly buggered off , it was bloody scarey and exhilarating at the same time ( just like me riding trails above my technical ability )

Canberra warm up ride - Sparrow Hill and Stromlo or Majura
So the Mont is fast approaching and I at least, have not ridden Sparrow Hill.
Chatting with a few folk over the last few days it seemed like a good idea to get a ride organised down south. The two day option with the night in Canberra. Folks are welcome to do just the one day if they wish.
Where - Canberra, definately Sparrow Hill and then a discussion on the second day.
When - A few weeks before the Mont. Feb 28 March 1st weekend. (Not 7/8 March please)
Lets discuss the ride options and numbers. Will post up as a ride shortly.
