2010 Specialized Enduro Expert

Medium size frame in 'test red' colour, 26-inch wheels. Fantastic bike, was preparing it for a trip to NZ in October but my new bike has arrived early. Great condition with some cosmetic chips and scratches, worst are on the left chain stay, see pictures. Many upgrades and a majour service just completed, details below.

Original specifications here - http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/archive/2...

Upgrades

  • Specialized Roval Traverse wheels, new in October 2013
  • Fun Fatboy 750mm bars

What trails are there in the area?

    Rubena 29er tyres

I've had the chance to play with some Rubena tyres over the last few months on the 29er.

    My thoughts here:
    http://www.bicycles.net.au/2014/09/rubena-kratos...

For the racer boys, I'd add that they perhaps don't roll quite as fast as a Rocket Ron + Racing Ralph combo, but if you're after a robust set of training tyres that give good grip and wear, they're a good buy.

Disclosure: the tyres and sealant were provided at no charge for the purpose of the review.

For those running 1x10 gears, a few questions

Do you miss your 2x10 or 3x10 setup ?

I'm thinking of going 1x10 (34t front and getting the 42T rear for my XT cassette), as I've had enough of the front dérailleur rubbing on my chain. I think I should be alright running 34x42 as the lowest gear, after playing with some online gear charts.

Any other downsides of going 1x10 except for losing a range of gears ?

    Cheers,
    Mario

WYLDE MTB Trail Roly Poly A-Line: Take Extreme Care!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

    Hi All,

I smashed my collar bone into three pieces last Saturday trying to ride over the raised platform which I think is called the Roly Poly A-Line. Apologies if I got the name wrong, I didn't bother to go back and check.

    Warringah Councillors, read this.

Rather than being bothered to get accurate costings, Warringah Councillors voted to turn down the chance to get involved in Bare Creek Bike Park and be part of a solution that created something that draws much needed riders and spending (and jobs) to the area.

Well unlike you (Mr Giltinan and Mr Regan in particular), some people do get it. Here's an example of what you're missing out on, thanks to your shafting of riders at the 11th hour on this project.

    Withdrawn: Conti Race Tubes

Note that this is "Withdrawn" so is here for archive purposes only.
    Price:
    5.00

I recently tried out a roadie for training rather than use my MTB around Akuna and Westhead. Unfortunately for me, after a few rides it was clear that my youngish but already screwed spine couldn't handle the road bike position (even with a shortened and raised stem). I purchased some spare road tubes in anticipation of being able to ride a roadie but I now have no use for them.

I've got 5 Conti Race Tubes 28 (700C) 42mm Presta up for grabs at a bargain $5 a pop. All are brand new and in original boxes. Pick-up is Belrose or I'll be at the Kowalski this weekend.
