Best rides for a novice on Nthn Beaches?
Hi all
If you've seen any of my previous posts I am a novice getting into XC. What rides on the Northern Beaches do you recommend for a relative novice? Not looking for anything too technical (yet)or too physically punishing!
Been riding Ryland (out & back) the single track that joins Ryland and the St Ives Showground, done Perimeter and Long (enjoyed that a lot). I live very close to Heath and cascades - enjoy that except for the climb out!
What else would you recommend I try?

Ryland update for 22 Apr
Just finished riding Ryland - out and back. Wet in patches and slightly washed out in others but very rideable.
Do you have more information?

Buying gear online - great experience!
Just wanted to call out the incredible customer service from cellbikes.com.au. I have no links to them other than being a customer. I searched everywhere for new "bite valve" for my Camelbak. Found it online at cellbikes.com.au - ordered 2 last night (Sunday) and have just had the package delivered to my door by courier less than 18 hours later.
I have bought quite a lot of odds and end from them over the years - never a stuff up or problems. Well done to them - keen to see if others have a similar experience with them.

Woodford to Glenbrook Classic - advice?
Looking to do the Woodford to Glenbrook Classic for the first time this year. Whats the best logistics advice regarding going up there on my own (family got kids football obligations). Where to park the car, catch the train with the bike? Anyone figured it out? Travelling from Sydney - can you get up there in enough time to make the 9Am start?

Race recommendations for a novice
Keen to get some advice from all you more experienced riders out there. I am a XC novice but really enjoy the time out on my bike and keen to get started in a couple of "races" nothing too radically technical or physically punishing! Looking at starting with 25km races and building from there. What would you guys recommend I get started with?

Manly Dam update for 09 Apr
Amber, definitely amber! Rode it early this morning Pretty wet just after the creek crossing all the way through the Allambie section. The rest of the track is ok. Needs a good 4-5 days to dry out.
On a good note for me I managed to pump out 3 laps in sub 2 hours (just, there were seconds in it!), not bad after 2 weeks without a ride! There was a lot of traffic including walkers and joggers. Watch out for some maintenance people walking the track too.

Tathra Enduro 50km
Tough ride. Used this ride as a training exercise for the opener of the 2011 SRAM SingleTrack Mind Series. It was super tough! First 15-18km's of sheer climbing. Flew into the 20km drink station on the back of some awesome SingleTrack... Time for a quick rest! Exhilarating downhill fire trail followed... then climbing again... and again... and again!!
The last 10km was awesome singletrack and excellent quick steep drops down onto wooden bridges, heaps of fun just as well given the last climb was a killer!

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Just up Jenkins Road from corner with Mount Faulk Road.
Please wash you bikes and gear so the Myrtle rust doesn't spread to Awaba especially if you are coming from the Central Coast area
