Knapsack Reserve update for 12 May
All looks good. The straight up/down fall lines are still eroding badly and the weed behind the soccer fields has gone wild over summer. The tree down on the sewer pipe access track has now gone.

An Average Day Out
Well, where do I start? Talked into doing this by Stephen back in November last year, chucked in the entry and then settled down to procrastinating about training for it.
Roll forward to the 3rd of May, managed to rack up around 1500k's of training between January and now, both on and off-road. This included some WSMTB clubbies along with one of the WSMTB summer series 4 hour rounds. The road riding really helped me learn the power of spinning as well. Living in the Mountains with Anderson's in the backyard means no shortage of hills to climb too.

Menai Trail Build/Maintenance
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
The meeting point is Little Forest Rd, Lucas Heights. If driving south /south east on Illawara road, pass ANSTO on your left then look for Little Forest Rd and signs to the tip on your right, about 200m after ANSTO.
Follow the road around to the right until you come to the locked gates. Most likely there will be a number of cars there plus Kev (local council rep in a white ute - see him with or about your liability form.
Thought I'd get this up in the calendar although I'm uncertain on a lot of the details so anyone in the know please assist by commenting below.
Build days are held monthly on the second Saturday 0745 to 1200

Another Single Speed Convict 100 completed
Having done this race for the last 4 years I felt I had a pretty good understanding of the course and for the first time I had a proper race strategy to counter all the mistakes I have made in the past.
Eating was the first and biggest issue I have, easy fixed I thought so I set the Garmin to let me know to eat every 20 minutes. A Gel every 20 worked well even though it's a little lean for my 95kg frame my energy levels didn't fluctuate.

North Sydney Council have extended submissions to 9th May

My Profile / Maintenance suggestion
I had a thought that it would be good if in our profiles below the "favourite places to ride" there was a "Trails I have helped maintain" field.
This would give the opportunity for those who have helped maintain a track show they have helped in some way and even write a little blurb about what they have done.
For those who haven't done any Maintenance, this may help spur them on so they don't have that blank field in their profile.
Like I said, was just a thought and curious of your thoughts.

Yellomundee Track Maintenance
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
There's a car park (click for foggy picture) on Springwood Road - just down the way from Hawkesbury Heights if you're looking for a suburb name.
Quoted from WSMTB Facebook Group page and WSMTB.com
WSMTB will be holding another track maintenance morning at Yellomundee Regional Park, 8.30am Saturday 10 May.
All welcome!
Attend and get 10 points for your XC series, plus a great BBQ lunch by WSMTB - and the knowledge that you are doing your bit for Sydney tracks. If every rider did just one day per year, then OUR tracks would be even better. Have you done your bit? Good tracks don't just happen my magic.

Key Reunion

I got a bit bored so I created my own cyclist meme
There is so much cyclist hate and anti-cyclist memes I thought I would create a pro cyclist meme for shits and giggles. Thoughts?
