Looking at my past results I realised I never updated my race results for last years race. Thought I should add them in. Was so close to the hour mark.

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Winmalee
Meeting Point:

End of White Cross Rd, Winmalee, NSW. There's a small parking area here but it's a standard suburban street so overflow isn't a problem.

G’Day all,

It’s been a long time since we’ve had a social ride around Winmalee and while it’s mainly fireroad, it’s still fun.

The plan is to meet at the end of Whitecross rd at 8:00am and start the loop there.

There are 2 early bail-out points but the plan is for a pretty solid 50km. The planned loop will be as follows;

• Head along Shaw’s ridge, down the Shaw’s descent and up Bee’s nest hill to the lookout.
• Back along Springwood ridge, through Todd’s sniggle then down into the Grotto (possible bail-out point).

We do not condone the use of illegal trails/riding. Perhaps this can help police the users who ride closed trails when wet, etc...

The Oaks update for 26 May

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Area:
The Oaks
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

The NPWS crews have been cleaning out the water culverts along the trail so at each culvert there may be a sand trap. The sharp left hand corner (I've always know it as Deadmans Corner) just down from the helipad is covered with a layer of soft sand, as is the fast left hander about 100 metres further on.

Feed back can be worth more than Gold.

At today's Rake & Ride, we where handed out slips of paper with an email asking for feedback. This is extremely important!!!

Several staff are very keen to build more Mountain bike trails as they can see the multiple of benefits mountain biking brings but they need 2 things. Convincing the Powers that be and funding. One of the most powerful weapons in achieving both of these is feedback.

Here are some suggestions you may like to talk about.

Did you like the new trail?

  • What did and/or didn't you like about the new trail?
