Thursday night social, oops double entry

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
When:
Thursday, 16 May, 2013 - 16:30

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Winmalee
Meeting Point:

Halcyon ave, next to the nursery

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Chuck is out with a bad hamstring and we missed last week so i thought i would post up a ride as i still need the fitness.

For something different i thought it would be good to have another crack at Bees Nest in cooler weather.

Im thinking we start at the nursery, down past the grotto, up along shaws ridge. Up Bees nest. Optional lookout visit and return via springwood ridge.

Ive put the start time as 6:30pm hoping this will suit most. Pace will be social with the standard gas bagging.

Conquer Cancer Ride

Hi Guys,

We got our Jersey/bib knick kits for our charity ride in October. There is still time to make a donation to this worthy cause to fight cancer.

Check them out, Jersey and Bib Knicks, $54 a set including freight.
No minimum order.

Here is the link; http://sy13.conquercancer.org.au/site/TR/Events/...

@Tim, this could be a good place to do the next run on BMORC jerseys + knicks.

Bluegum Express way.....

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Date:
7 May 13

Bluegum is pretty tough to ride fast through now - it has been graded and all the ferns are now brush matting allong the trail making it soft and spongy. The track is about 4m wide with no clear line ridden in yet.
I will get this KOM one day!

Finally a sub 8min Bee's Nest climb!

I've wanted to crack the 8min barrier up Bee's Nest for a while now but never managed it. It is one of the toughest climbs around.
2 years ago sub 10min was unthinkable and just clearing the climb was awesome.
The planets alligned today and I had a good crack at it.
Got in by 1 second! Woohooo!
I might still be 50 seconds off Big Dog, but he's in a different league.....

Just read this FB post and wishing the bloke a speedy recovery.

"An injured mountain bike rider was flown to hospital after a CareFlight team searched and found him on a track in Garigal national park at Belrose in Sydney’s north today.

Ambulance paramedics alerted the rapid-response trauma team just before 11.30 am following a “000” call from another biker who found the unconscious man.

Although the keen can combine this with The Oaks in which case you'll want to meet down at Glenbrook.

Planning on riding Ando's Oaks tomorrow morning. Late notice I know but happy to have some company if anyone is keen.
Pace will be fairly quick - probably no stops except for a top up of water and a nibble if needed. In saying that, if others come along we'll pace the ride to suit.
