Petition for Golden Jubilee Mtn bike Park
As part of a multiple prong approach the following petition has been left at the bike stores list below.
Please go in and sign the petition and help raise awareness of the proposed MTB Park and changes made by the council.
With out your voice nothing can be done to deliver quality Mountain Biking to our region.
The Petition
To Kur-ring-gai Council,
Planned 570km long track
Was out riding today and came across this sign and I got a little excited.
To sum up, a track/path is getting built from Brooklyn to Goulburn
Now the section in Penrith they are upgrading will have a shared path.
But I don't know if the entire track will all be shared access. I think it should be, and maybe we need to speak up.
I have done a quick google and all I have come up with are these 2 sites.
IMB Mag Trail Maintenance
In the free online International Mountain Bike Magazine issue 10 they have an article on Trail Maintenance and I think it will become a regular article with each issue. Also contains video.
Check out the Article here.

Clean up Australia Day - Single track on Mona Vale Rd
All,
Don't forget Clean up Australia day this Sunday. Do a little PR for the riders and stop and pick up some litter.
Two bike sites I know of are the Single Track on Mona Vale Rd meeting at the Kuringai Community Nursery at 8.30 or the Oxford Fall Downhill track, meeting at 9am.
See you there.

Official Release from KMC regarding Golden Jubilee Plans
There has been a lot of rumour and speculation about what is going on with the Golden Jubilee plans Ku-ring-gai council approved last year:
Hornsby Shire trails - support needed
Support needed from riders in the Hornsby area. Some planned trail building in the Hornsby Shire has been put on hold due to the usual ill-informed local lobbying of council, causing them to backflip on plans to build XC trails in the area. Email from HSMBA below, with ways to help out if you're interested.
Hi Fellow Singletrack Activists,
Happy New Year and we trust you had a relaxing festive season since our last update.
Sadly we have some terrible news.
Report from Second round of MTB Discussion paper forum
Regarding In the news: Second round of MTB Discussion paper forums.... there's a report from the Nowra workshop here...
http://www.rotorburn.com/forums/showthread.php?2...
Have a read. For the authorities it's worth noting the lack of opposition to views in the prior forums (which was predominantly that sustainable mountain bike riding in NSW National Parks would be a good thing) given the turn out of this meeting.

Please see Second round of MTB Discussion paper forums in the NoBMoB news section.
Basically, more dates from NPWS forums on the MTB discussion paper.
