100km Events

Hoping for some advice from past 100km event participants....

Unsure of which one to train for. Have just started building fitness now (am reasonably fit but not 100km fit) and looks like there's a few 100km races later on in the year. Have never entered a race but will do a few this year prior - Choc Foot etc etc.

I was originally looking to do the Angry Doctor. Based on past experience has anyone any recommendations....

Husky 100 entries open

Not sure if anyone has posted this but the entries for the Husky race in June are now open. Great singletrack and no major hills so about as much fun as you can have in a 100k race (just don't mention the puddles).

VVC Awaba 10 Hour - March 5

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Just a heads up that the Awaba VVC CLassic 10 Hour is on on Saturday 5th march.

Entries are open at http://www.twentysixinches.com/vvc/vvc-enter

What's the VVC 10 hour ??

The info is all at http://www.twentysixinches.com/, but to cut a long story short it's a race with the emphasis on fun. Entire teams can get out and lap together and the sausage sizzle and post ride brew are on us.

Riders are capped at 150 and we would love to see you there.

Paterson Kona 24

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Entries are now open for the Paterson Kona 24, the newest 24-hour XC mountain bike endurance race to hit the calendars.

The boutique event will be held in Paterson NSW on May 21/22 2011, and rider numbers for the inaugural year are capped at 500.

Entries are open to teams, soloists and 6+6 racers, meaning that there will be a racing class to suit all abilities. Participating in the race will cost $100 per rider, and potential riders are encouraged to enter quickly, as with the limited places, the race is expected to sell out.

Real Insurance XCM Series - NSW

So this is interesting, basically they are going to have a NSW XCM Series which utilises the best events in NSW including Dirtworks, Capital Punishment and Angry Doctor.

The series will allow you to compare where you sit within NSW in the XCM discipline. Pretty interesting stuff I think.

I am already entered into CP and DW and was looking at the Angry Doctor anyway, so may as well cover the other race and see where I end up at the end of the year in the Series.

A quick report from our pointscore officer and timing chief,

A great day of racing was had today. The new XC co-ordinator endeared himself to all A, B and C grade riders by not including the climb up Camelback - many thanks Rossco! Just a few points from todays race:

wanted to blag: a lift back from Jet Bacl 24

Hi All

I am wondering if anyone would be able to give me and a bike a lift back from the JB 24 to Manly on the Sunday afternoon? I'll be spending Friday night out there with the wife and kids and then sending them home on Saturday afternoon (that was it's a family activity rather than bloody dad and his bikes again) so I'd like to avoid having to take two cars out there so I can get back on Sunday.

If anyone from the area has space it would make life a lot easier for us but it's not critical

thanks in advance
danny
