Manly Dam. Rider Down Sunday noon. 28/10

Talking about OTB in the other threat.
Coming Down the decent to Curl Curl Creek. 3 ambulances. Just above the big rock roll down. Farrrk didn't look good at all. Temptation to stop to see what was going on was huge. But 4-6 ambulance officers should be plenty to take care of ther poor soul who crashed there.

I hope whoever it was has a quick road to recovery.

How often do you crash, stack, OTB, etc.. ?

So I stacked it again this morning, twice this month, this time got more than just bruises Sad
That's 2 stacks in 10 rides. Both stacks happened at the 2nd lap around Manly Dam, tired, less concentration is my reasoning behind it.

Just wondering how often do others crash ?

Tool Kits

Hey Everyone
I am starting to put in my orders for xmas with the minister for fun and finance (wife). Was wanting some feedback on the better tool kits to buy so that can do a lot of my own maintenance.I recently changed the gear cables but wanted to expand my self maintenance repertoire. I have a had a brief look at the usual suspects online but not realy sure where to start. Some of the jobs I wanted to tackle include; brakes, hubs, headset, shocks and possibly the BB.

Any feedback from those that currently do thier own maintenance would be greatly appreciated

best route to take in the 3 gorges and back

Hi Folks
Im keen to do a big road ride this weekend in prep for the Fling. Hoping to get 120km's in the legs. A mate has told me to check out the 3 gorges ride, but didnt get any details.

I dont know this area at all, so wondering if anyone can anyone give more info on this ride, perhaps point me to a strava ride with this route so I know where im going?
Many thanks
String

*** Dont worry - Ive just found the Activity Search Feature in Strava.. Finding all the routes. *** Cheers String

Bike maintenance tutor wanted

I am looking for someone who can teach me how to fix and diagnose bike maintenance stuff. Eg, gear tuning, replacing cables, maintenance of headset, hubs etc. I have a yeti 575 and a commuter hybrid. Happy to pay standard mechanic rates if suitably qualified. Must be pretty local (I am in Beacon Hill) and available week nights.

My New Ride

You know the deal - get a new ride and you can't help wanting to tell people. Anyway, here's mine for the summer - Giant Anthem X29 3

Changed a few parts over and have it down to 11.2 Kg. Loving the bike so far and posted my fastest lap of the Dam in 3 years on it this week.

Advice please after being hit by car

I was just riding roads linking up some trails and got cleaned up by a car at a roundabout. Luckily I am OK but bike is a different story. It's 2 weeks old and the rear wheel is buckled big time, the carbon framed is scratched to buggery, the RD is scratched and bent, handlesbars are all scuffed up and I am pissed off. Driver was sheidling eyes from the sun and just ran staright into me while looking in another direction.

Any lawyers/solicitors/experienced riders out there who can advise teh best course of action and how much I should be seeking eg repairs or full replacement???
