Virgin Commuter

Dunno if anyone knew, but my time of walking to work has gone, replaced most of this week by sitting on a bus in traffic (yerch!).

However, today things changed. Finally got everything sorted for a ride to the office, and here it is:

http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/episode/view....

Stats are wrong for a number of reasons, and a few wrong turns were taken. But the ride wasn't that bad at all so hopefully this will become a regular occurrence.

Can't do this all the time on the Rush of course. So... suggestions for a commuter bike? Eye-wink

Some old footage

Doing a bit of cleaning out on the hard drive and I stumbled across some old footage that I don't think made the cut in any of my short movies so I slapped it together. There's a bit of Old bat, the now defunct Wenny Falls jumps and Lithgow

Chain Change

Well, I had to make a note of this somewhere and here is good a place as any.

Just changed the chain on the Rush. HG53 lasted (consults MotionBased) just over 400Km in just over 2 months... pretty pathetic.

Let's see how the replacement HG93 goes - it is a little cheeky Cannondale don't give you a quality chain right off the bat though, given the measly cost difference (I paid 20 bucks for the HG93 from T7 - picked up a couple at that price... niiiice).

Old Coach road

It all started when Mark came into the shop and suggested that we do another Monday ride.
As any excuse to mooch off work on Monday and go for a ride is a good excuse and I'd just about forgotten the 20km long climb at the end of the last Monday ride he organised I was hell keen.

Sunday had me riding around Lidsdale State forest on my DH bike helping out with the chix skills day so when the alarm went off Monday morning my legs were a bit scared even if the rest of me was keen.

The Blue Mountains Epic - or There and Back Again

Well, thought I might share an experience from the weekend with you all.

Due to other commitments we (Mark & Tracy) were unable to participate in most of the planned rides (Mini DW etc) over the next couple of weeks in the lead up to Bateman's Bay, so we decided to go and revisit Anderson's and The Oaks. A group of us did this some time ago (when we busted the Scott for those who may have seen the trail repair picture) which didn't go exactly as planned. Nevertheless we had a good ride and the distance (around 60-65km) was about what we wanted to do. So this time ended up with me and my significant other and Leo, who had come with us last time. Bit of a ride, finish mid afternoon, home for the rugby - sweet.

Hi all, I'm back

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Well what an interesting couple of weeks. Alot going on personally and socially. Great couple of weeks leave with the kids on school hols, which tends to be my achiles heel when it comes to sensible eating. Much to my great surprise this wasn't the case this time. Those of us with kids probably know what its like on family holidays, trying to find something the kids will eat and at the same time is realively healthy. I'm pleased to say that the majority of the time I made the right decision.

Weighed in Sunday morning and to my pleasant surprise 101cm and 99.5kg.

Week 6.2 10th July 07 Weigh In and Goal check

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Numbers first
Waist 101cm
Weight 99.6kg

Ok numbers don't look that good but I am not at all worried about that. This is on the back of "carb loading" before Coffs and the usual group feed / road trip pig out after. So enough for those at the moment.

Now for the good stuff. My initial goal was to get to a point where I enjoyed the 50km Coffs ride and both crossing the line and sitting here now two days later I have to say I did.
