My Weekend at Majura
Spent the weekend at Majura. This would normally be awesome but I was on Majura Military training range. So I spent most of the weekend sitting up on the hill looking down across the road at the pine forest
Oh well.....can't wait to go back there sometime in the future!

Outcome...
Hiya All,
Thanks for all the support and help from the guys on the ride. Sorry to cut everyones ride short.
Sorry there are no before shots. But here are a couple of after shots.
Total of 10 stitches. Apparently it is a T style cut but more looked like a figure 8 when I got to the doctors. It took the doctor about 30mins to do the repair work.

Summer's Here!
Niiiice, but geeze - this heat will take some getting used to. No wonder we ride early (oh, and the traffic at this time of day completely sucks too!).
Or maybe it was having to chase Junkie for 2 laps. Well - aside from the DH sections, of which he said, "I've forgotten how to ride DH!"

First long race
Started off not knowing what to expect, guess I went out a bit too hard. Felt fine for the first 20km or so, having devoured a couple of gels off the top tube buffet. I looked down and noticed that my speedo wasn't reading, I had a quick stop and saw that the magnet had loosened itself and moved. I quickly unscrewed it and chucked it in my camelback thinking I shouldnt waste time setting up my speedo again. So at that point any vague plan I had of regular gels went out the door. By the time I saw the 35km sign I was totally exhausted.

Faster at night
I did not deal well with the het. My fastest time was the last lap when it was cooler.

It was Damed Hot
Reached up to 31 Degrees which made it very hard in the middle of the day. It slowed me right down.

Majura Pines
Majura Pines ROCKS,
had a ball for about 2h this morning!
Started at 7am @ 0C !!!!
Finished at 9am @ 5C! nice amd warm...

Finished
Well what can I say? My back is reminding me how painful that last, um, 65k's was, but gee what a blast! That was an awesome experience and one I'm gunna repeat. I just need to figure out how to keep the back issues at bay because my legs were OK apart from a weak spot at around the 82k mark. (That was because I didn't refill at the last fuelling stop as I wanted to get home under 8 hrs, and promptly sucked my last mouthful of water about 5 minutes later, with 20k's to go. So I was reluctant to eat anything because I wasn't sure I'd be able to swallow it.

How Tough?
Most has been said about how tough but good the track was and we got prefect weather and conditions to ride it in but so many climbs made it real tough for me. I also found it interesting that I did the DW 50 in 3:51:55 or around 15 minutes quicker than this ride and that included two mechanicals lasting about 10 - 15 min and having to run / walk about 8 km's of the course as well as riding the last 2 km's in granny. Bike in this event was perfect not a single issue - legs are what broke down this time and I guess I went out too fast early on.
