Bit of riding on Saturday
Skinny was acting a moving tripod. It was over cast when we started but then the sun popped out so the light is a bit harsh in places, I need to make up a flare guard or sumthink.

1st go at terry hills
In a nutshell... pretty easy, did nerang to end of long track & return. A good intro for my friend - she'll be joining me at the 6hr in october so we'll be going a bit more advanced soon, but baby-steps.

The local councillor is concerned about rubbish at Appin
Hi guys
Because I saw a dozen NOBMOB's were heading out to Appin last Sun I detoured from Ourimbah, riding has more energy when there's lots of people eh.
Anyway, at the carpark after a couple of laps friendly Norm who lives a few doors down and is on the local council asked us to pass the word around that they've been finding lots of rubbish at the carpark. He seems to think it's 'not you lot' but rather the hoons parking at night with a bottle of JD, a ute and too much rubber on their tyres.
There was powerade on the ground though, so everybody, please pack the rubbish out.

Wet, Wet, Wet 2
The roads were dry and it was barely spitting as we set out, but then it started to rain. That wouldn't be a problem as BOM and the Nobmob weather page indicated minimal rain during the day. However we soon found out that the trails were already sodden and muddy, but with 10 boofy blokes all wet and in the bush at night of course no one was going to turn back. As we proceeded the chorus of sand grinding metal kept us company and in my mind I could hear the Ka-ching, Ka-ching of the bike shops cash register.

Cold, Dam Cold!
I have never been so cold on a ride before tonight.
It started raining, yes RAIN not girly drizzle, and kept up for most of the ride.
Thanks to the guys that shared their lights with me as I didn't think to read Paul's post that did say burn time of 2-3 hours, I could have brought out my 2.25kg beasty battery. Doh!

Another Tuesday night special
Ok, sure there was frost forming on the ground as we rode but crystal clear skyes, good company, new toys and more new Single trail... What more does a guy need

CTMBC all in Goup challenge
This was the DH vs XC "all in group challenge."
It involved an individual time trial along a section of the XC track at Lidsdale
with a bonus points hill climb back up the same track afterwards.
It gave the XCers a taste of DH style sprinting against the clock
without the scary bits and the DHers a taste of XC style getting
around slow corners and pedalling without the scary bits...
Big props to all the DH kids that gave the hill climb a crack on their DH bikes

N+1
So, you've seen the picture, here's some first impressions from a quick 2.5 laps of the Dam (first lap with some tech stuff over near Forestville - no, not Bantry Bay!).
Coming from the Rush the position is more upright, cockpit shorter and ride very plush. That plush feeling partly due to lack of air in the rear shock. In fact it bottomed out first water bar I hit (just after school) so stopped and put more in to firm it up. Added a bit more later which sorted things out. Was used to the geometry change shortly after, no problem.

Red Hill nobmob ride 19 July
Yesterday Heckler led a ride out at Red Hill. Squid, Andy, Tien, and Buck showed up. It was Buck's first time at Red Hill. I think he liked it! The ride had a very leisurely pace, which was good for a beautiful Sunday morning. We left with no major injuries, but with one very muddy foot! It was great fun, and very relaxing. Thanks guys!

Rush Bling & Lefty Removal
Over the last couple days have been upgrading a few parts on the Rush as it's hand-me-downs are going to a new build that's in the making.
The Rush got some Juicy Ultimate brakes (on special - couldn't resist), an XT crankset, Selle Italia SLR XC saddle and some Eggbeater SL pedals. As I say, the parts that came off are going on another build so easy to justify!
