What a race!
What a race, that would have to be my favourite course ever, the relentless climbing was soon forgotten when whooping around the single track that seemed to get better as the race progressed. I found the track exciting and at the same time safe with no sudden surprises, I hit a max speed of 66.3kmph and I'm keen to hear what others did especially your max Steve01 crazy man? I think I went out a little hard early (like most) as I had a 50km time of 3:00:55 and the 2nd 50km took 24 mins longer so maybe a slower 1st half may have resulted in a shorter overall time.

first ever 100km enduro
Well boys and girls that was the toughest race I have ever had the pleasure of doing.
I went into the start not quite knowing what to expect or how I was going to cope. I had had a crazy couple of weeks leading up to the race that meant that I hadnt been on the bike since Rob's anti-social ride 2 weeks prior. http://nobmob.com/node/6068
I would like to say I went into the race with my legs well rested.

Irate intern 50k:)
Race: Irate Intern (50km)
Originally I was going to do the Angry Doctor (100km) but after discussion with my coach we decided I would compete in the Irate Intern (50km) for a more intense race.
After a long car trip down to Batemans Bay we arrived at our destination on Saturday.
On Sunday morning we (the 50km riders) got to have a sleep in as when we got up the 100km riders had already left. The race started at 9am for us.
I started off with an aim to get top 20 (outright) and under 3 hours time.
The race was off...

Last minute decision!!!
I wasn't going to do the Angry Doctor this year but after getting a very generous offer from Lance saying I could have his 100km entry. I'd to quickly arranged accomodation for my wife and kids and off we went to Mogo on Saturday afternoon.
This was my first 100km race and I didn't know what I was getting myselft into. So, the plan was to do the first 50km nice and steady and see how I was feeling for the second 50km.

A good day out
Irate Intern Result - 3h:25m.54
Place 30th of 142 Open Mens
Place 74th of 304 Irate Interns
What a day! Who would think the rain of the prior few days would break out into a fine, clear sunny day? After all the huffing and fussing about rain, mud, and tyre choice, we show up for a fantastic ride in what you would have to call perfect XC trail conditions.

Hardest race ever done
Well got off to a good start in the uncrowded 5:30 -6:00hr group it was moving at a fast but sustainable pace with no hold ups or traffic jams. For once I had spent some time on getting my bike in tip top working order or so I thought, could hear a grating noise from the drive train the gears were changing perfectly so was a bit stumped to what was wrong around 10km's in a decided to get off the bike & check what was happening before things go pear shaped.

under 5 hrs!
I thought this might be good for a little giggle as I made it to the finish just under 5 hours to be exact it took me: 4.59.57 hehe
How is that for 'timing'?
(Do I need to mention that I did the 50km not the 100km?? )
I was amazed (and glad) about how the super great, fast flowing DH single track instantly wiped out the memory of the just climbed (walked) hill and made me struggle up the next!?
Thanks for the great weekend everybody! So much fun to hang out, listen to all the pains and dramas and having a laugh about it.

Wow - tough ride
Not sure how to describe this event - a mixture of both pleasure and pain.
Long periods of extreme pain from unbelievable cramps. My muscles were spasming like there were aliens inside them moving around from about 25kms to the end. Getting off didn't help - the only thing to do was to keep moving and keep the legs spinning. I think maybe the three red wines the night before wasn't a good idea, but then again lots of others I spoke to were cramping.

What a ride
That was so much fun, although my bodoy's feeling it today. Those single tracks felt like riding a roller coaster. It was a great pick me up to see Steve01 at around the 70 km and swap stories about whose body was in the most pain. Cramping legs made that last 20k pretty difficult. 6 hr and 7 min - I'm pretty stoked.
Cheers Lincoln
