[Montview] Come to April Meeting

Public meeting in April (Date & Time TBA) for any people interested to come a long and comment on the Montview Plan.

This is essentially pumps and jumps and should assist in accelerating other forms of off road cycling. Council plan to run a public meeting to get the public’s feedback about the plan to make sure they are doing what we want.

Montview is a flat sports field located in Hornsby Heights with some degraded land on it's east end.

The Proposed location is situated on top of a hill with valley views to the east and north.

A landscape supplier borders it's southern edge. There is a cycleway on Galston Rd that takes you to Hornsby. Their are toilets, a tap, some basic children play equipment, and a fire trail (northern side) that leads to a large flat area of more disturbed land. Discussions with council officers indicate it could be a suitable location for some cycling facilities.

At Galston Rd and head West for about 200m, you will find this fire trail entrance on your left:

It's a popular ride and takes you (if you choose the right route) all the way to Clarinda & Stewart (Rifle Range):

Detailed plan and costs have been prepared by DirtZ http://www.dirtz.com.au/apps/blog/ and submitted to Hornsby Shire Council . Apparently the proposed cost is a little more than in the budget and so some changes might occur. Council is going to try and make the plan available on the web.

If your not already, please join Hornsby Shire Mountain Bike Alliance in support of it's objectives.

The more numbers at the meeting in support, the better generally.
