****FIRST STAGES OF NEW TRAIL NOW OPEN - MORE TO COME ****
Mostly cross country single track, built to IMBA standards, OMV is a combination of hand cut, machine cut, slick rock, rock armoured and timber board walk. Except for the Green Loop, OMV is relatively challenging with tight rocky sections, short pinch climbs, and includes extensive berms and rollers that help the rider maintain momentum and flow.
Stage 1
Green loop = 0.4km
Blue loop = 2.8km
Blue inc Black loops = 3.2km
Please use the new tyre scrubber on Quarry Road to remove mud from tyres - (Plant disease control).
Hornsby Shire trails - support needed
Support needed from riders in the Hornsby area. Some planned trail building in the Hornsby Shire has been put on hold due to the usual ill-informed local lobbying of council, causing them to backflip on plans to build XC trails in the area. Email from HSMBA below, with ways to help out if you're interested.
Hi Fellow Singletrack Activists,
Happy New Year and we trust you had a relaxing festive season since our last update.
Sadly we have some terrible news.
[Montview] Come to April Meeting
Public meeting in April (Date & Time TBA) for any people interested to come a long and comment on the Montview Plan.
This is essentially pumps and jumps and should assist in accelerating other forms of off road cycling. Council plan to run a public meeting to get the public’s feedback about the plan to make sure they are doing what we want.
Montview is a flat sports field located in Hornsby Heights with some degraded land on it's east end.
