Duration:
3 hours
Come Rain or Shine:
If it's raining, I won't be there.
Ride Database Entry:
Cascades
Meeting Point:

Meet at the end of Wyatt Ave in Belrose.

-33.725423,+151.206919
Details:

Riding the 4 gates 3 times.

Down heath, up quarry, down, up to acron, down, up to davidson, down, up heath. Repeat 2 more times.

This will be a training ride with alot of hills.

So riding will be continuous with minimal breaks.

Bring lots of water and food. At over 50km and 1600m of elevation, it will be a tough ride.

There may be the option to pull out after 2 laps depending on legs. I for one know I may not make the distance....

Three times is madness especially after doing the oaks the day before. I will most likely try to do two.

Or there was talk of doing something like this:

Either way, it all starts 8am on Sunday at Wyatt... be there or... erm... have a nice lie in Eye-wink

Maybe I'll come - but what is with these early 8am starts this weekend after Oaks 8am Laughing out loud

Do you plan to stop at the cars between laps or not ?

Tom

I wouldn't bank on returning to the cars... esp. if we do the hill fest course.

Damien's picture

Was going to head to Manly for a bit of fun but this looks to good to miss. The hill fest looks like a good option but its not my ride so will be happy to follow the leader.

A local training ride that will flog our legs. Sounds good. See you there, Cheers Lincoln

Is anyone with a free spot in the car going to pass near a train station in the way to this ride?

Eager rider who lives in the inner west (without a car this weekend) in need for a lift.

I can get to any train station as long there is no track work.

Cheers,

Leo.

Hill Fest!

arpit's picture

I won't be joining you on the ride, but I may ride the cascades, heath, and sniggle sometime tomorrow morning. I might see you there!

Damien's picture

Not going to make the hill fest now.

I did more than enough hills on todays Oaks up and back plus doing the top section twice and then out to the end of Pisgah probably puts me at around about the 85km mark.

So I think an easy recovery ride on the road for tomorrow morning is a smarter option now.

Sorry I had to run off like that, but 3 hour curfew and made it with 23 seconds to spare. Still, means I can post today's profile before heading out:

Felt really good here - was able to climb out of Heath in middle on the way to my time bonus. OK - so that didn't feel that good! Eye-wink

Next time no wusing out and add a few of the Cascades hills we missed, eh? Sticking out tongue

Thanks Rob for guiding Smiling

Thanks to everyone, I had loads of fun. I get some sick pleasure out of destroying my legs Smiling A bit stiff this morning, but feeling great! Smiling

Cheers,
Loz

Buck's picture

You must be sick Loz to be that happy about those hills Sticking out tongue

I'm just happy to be alive after riding that the day after the Oaks ride!

Alysum's picture

It was quite a physical challenge wasn't it. But man Rob didn't looked like he did the Oaks the day before Laughing out loud

I hope my puncture didn't hold up the group for too long (one of the worst times/places fot it to happen !). Mind you it was my first puncture on this bike since I got it last march - not a bad record Smiling (Unlike the 3 punctures in 4 weeks on French trails in July on a hardtail...).

Rob the guide guru should release a book about the local tails $29 for Nobmob members only ! Sticking out tongue

Left the group early to avoid having too much fun in one day and was enjoying a coffee at the showground probably about the time the next hill was looming up for everyone else. My first ride with the mob and thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks, Stuart.
