Details:

A long ride in preparation for the Southern Highland Fling leaving 2 weeks to recover before the Scott 24 hour. I had in mind a 70 to 80k ride starting at wisemans ferry then up the sandy hill and continuing 35k along Gt Northern Road. Then turn back and go down Shepherds Gully and finish ourselves of on the 8k road back to the ferry.

This is a training ride so minimal stops but the pace will not be race pace. A moderate pace to average about 15kms / hour is ideal.

Bring heaps of food and water and a spare tube and everything else required for big a day out.

If you're interested please join in as I'm looking forward to some company for the ride. Makes it a bit more enjoyable Smiling

When you say, "up the sandy hill" do you mean Devines or Western Commission Track? I mean, after the ferry crossing will you turn left (Devines) or right (Western Commission)? Left means riding the 'fun' (or tough - depending on your outlook) part twice, right means only once on the way back.

FWIW, would be happy for either option and am a tentative so long as the weather isn't too bad the rest of the week.

I think it is Devines hill. At the top of the hill you have Shepherds to your left and all the fun to your right.

Staffan
