I have exported the route created on bikely and tried to load it in my Edge 305 but I am having dificulties. Has anyone loaded routes from bikely before or am I doing something wrong. To load to the GPS unit I am using the Motionbased Agent but it says something like invalid file.

PS. If someone has the Edge 305 and could test it using the below link that would be great Smiling

Try converting the GPX file to a CRS file (http://www.gpsies.com/convert.do) and then import into the Edge using Garmin Training Center (free download from Garmin). I think that's what I usually do, haven't done it for a while.

I achieved this with your sample Bikely file by saving the downloaded GPX file then use http://www.coursemapper.com/
Select the course mapper tab in course mapper then "File Load Course from GPX File". The course will show on course mapper map as a blue line. Select "Garmin Device" menu then "Save Course to Garmin Device as Course". Find the course on your Garmin. It was named "From-GPX" when I followed this process. Hope this helps.

Or just do that!

Hi,
I got Garmin etrex Vista HCx. It uses MapSource software (supplied with the unit) for downloading GPX files.
I downloaded the file no problem. My issue is, every time the track has got more then 500 points (which is pretty much always), it gets "Truncuted", as displayed on the unit right after uploading. It basically chops the track off after 500 points. (Well, at least you can find where the track starts:)
I contacted my shop for advice, waiting for reply.
Anyone came across a similar issue?

Can probably fix up the >500 points issue with the http://www.coursemapper.com/ Course Compactor (tab) option. Not used it, but appears to be designed to fix the issue you describe. I have found the site very useful for manipulating and creating GPS files.

Thank you for the responses. I used the http://www.coursemapper.com/ site to import and upload it and it worked a treat Smiling

From CourseMapper
Tools->Course->Reverse Course Direction
This may do the job after you have uploaded the course.
