The local councillor is concerned about rubbish at Appin
Hi guys
Because I saw a dozen NOBMOB's were heading out to Appin last Sun I detoured from Ourimbah, riding has more energy when there's lots of people eh.
Anyway, at the carpark after a couple of laps friendly Norm who lives a few doors down and is on the local council asked us to pass the word around that they've been finding lots of rubbish at the carpark. He seems to think it's 'not you lot' but rather the hoons parking at night with a bottle of JD, a ute and too much rubber on their tyres.
There was powerade on the ground though, so everybody, please pack the rubbish out.
Old Coach road
It all started when Mark came into the shop and suggested that we do another Monday ride.
As any excuse to mooch off work on Monday and go for a ride is a good excuse and I'd just about forgotten the 20km long climb at the end of the last Monday ride he organised I was hell keen.
Sunday had me riding around Lidsdale State forest on my DH bike helping out with the chix skills day so when the alarm went off Monday morning my legs were a bit scared even if the rest of me was keen.
The Blue Mountains Epic - or There and Back Again
Well, thought I might share an experience from the weekend with you all.
Due to other commitments we (Mark & Tracy) were unable to participate in most of the planned rides (Mini DW etc) over the next couple of weeks in the lead up to Bateman's Bay, so we decided to go and revisit Anderson's and The Oaks. A group of us did this some time ago (when we busted the Scott for those who may have seen the trail repair picture) which didn't go exactly as planned. Nevertheless we had a good ride and the distance (around 60-65km) was about what we wanted to do. So this time ended up with me and my significant other and Leo, who had come with us last time. Bit of a ride, finish mid afternoon, home for the rugby - sweet.
Canberra Wrap - June Long Weekend 07
Figured I'd put this in as a blog rather than four individual posts for the four days.
Let me start by saying what a bummer it was that you fell ill Rob and couldn't join us down there. That said you really didn't miss much at all so there is no point in you reading on any further.
Dirtworks Disaster
OK, so - the 'eventful' Dirtworks this year?
As I say on MB, "First 50 looking good, around 70Ks beginning to falter, last 20Ks - pure hell! Didn't eat/drink enough to keep the early pace going. Doh!"
As I often joke, I should write a book about what not to do on an MTB. On this occasion the planning was probably OK, but poorly executed I suffered for it.
