What to do with old parts

Like many of you I tend to accumulate old or broken bike parts and struggle to find a use for them. Since they are so expensive to replace but almost impossible to sell I tend to hang on to them. My girlfriend came up with this nifty idea for an old bent disc rotor. $20 for the clock parts from spot light. The rotor cost me $80 to replace so this clock is worth $100 but I think it will make a perfect addition to my shed...when I have one.

2008 sram x7 trigger shifter maintenance

hey guys was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of instructions to open up and inspect inside my 2008 sram x7 trigger shifter? the product manual on the sram service website just says "the trigger shifters are virtually maintenance free and if you want to look inside consult your local dealer". any help would be much appreciated. churs,

Good weather to tighten your nuts

Watching the rain come down from my garage - hanging for a ride decided to break out the tools for some maintenance - Found my rear suspension link (down near the cranks) was real loose and explains why the rear has been feeling weird, next the front derailleur again loose.
It pays to check your nuts-n-bolts

Hello as the tittle says im looking for an avid bleeding kit to buy. Ive got elixir 5's and they seem to be quite spongy, loosing power, and almost touch the handle bars under hard breaking. So now is the time for a bleed!

Good source for 36t chainring?

Hi All

Yesterday I fitted a spare 36 tooth Surly chainring on a 1 x 9 for a lap around the dam. The ratios were perfect (11-32 rear) but I was getting shocking chain suck because the chainring is too thick for a 9 speed chain (as I've discovered today thanks to the Surly site)

The question: can anyone recommend a good source for a 36t, 4 x 104mm chainring? I need it for the fling in two weeks so can't wait for a OS internet order so may need to (egads!) pay retail

thanks in advance
danny

Ebay MTB frame Question

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Anyone bought or know someone who has bought a frame like this from China? Are they knockoffs or the real deal?
