RockShox Pike 454 v's Fox 32 Float 140RLC or....
Looking at a couple of forks at the moment in the 140-150 mm zone, and the choice looks like a 454 Pike with 20 mm axle or a Float 32 RLC with 15 mm axle. I'm having trouble getting a clear idea of which fork better suits my needs, and only having ridden the Fox can't make a performance comparison yet. There are sooo many options in forks these days, it's almost as bad as trying to get a mobile phone what rings and takes calls.
I've got Hope II hubs so no problems with axle compatibility.
The bike these would go on has between 5.7" and 5.8" of rear travel and an RP23.

Commuting
For all those mtb commuters I am having some difficulty deciding the best path to take. I am looking are starting to commute the 14km from Balgowlah to Work in the city but don’t know the best option to take.
I have a giant trance 1 07 model for the commute but don't have a spare wheelset to throw slicks on for a quick change over between mtb tyres and slicks. I also don’t have the space for a dedicated commuter.
Cheap Avid Bleed Kit?
Anyone know of such a product?
I'm not really that keen on paying $60 for a couple of syringes and some plugs..... (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?M...)
I know Alligator made a universal one that T7 used to sell, but it couldn't do Avids. Surely someone else makes some cheaper aftermarket kits?
I found these Formula bleed kits which apparently do Avids as well, can anyone confirm? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?M...
They are a fair whack cheaper at $26 too.
Any help would be great thanks, my elixirs need bleeding....

SRAM XX
Some details emerge on SRAM XX (10 speed for MTB).
Seems ring combos (not mix-n-match) will be "26-39t, 28-42t, and 30-45t" and cassette (which take 9 hours to machine out of a solid lump of steel! Think $$$!) in "11-32t and a very interesting 11-36t".
This means your granny will be less granny (26/36 smallest combo) and big dog will be less big unless you take the 30/45 ringset and suffer a granny of only 30/36. Yeah, don't think this is prime time for lazy bones riders quiet yet, but the 'roids will like it.
my suspension fork
Hi guys MountainBiker hear. i have a Diamondback Zetec X4 and the suspension fork on the bike is not the best but i wouldn't say its crap i just need something softer.....getting to the point i was wondering if anyone could suggest/recommend any forks that would fit my bike (the bike is a small i think 14"have to look it up on the website) and is soft enough so a 12 year old could push it down (I'm 12 yes i know I'm young but i love mountain biking)but i have a budget $300 - about $450. I have no idea on how to look for a fork that would fit my bike.
thanks!!
