Money no object, one bike what would YOU choose?
After a chat today about what we actually ride vs what we'd like bike wise I ask the following Question.
PICK A BIKE, money no object to do everything that you currently do/want to do.
Personally, I'd like an agile trail bike that is fast, comfortable but can handle the odd race & jump.
Poss choices would be a 29er Ti hardtail or mid travel duallie or light allmountain 26er.
Personal perceived choice is a Tallboy 29er or Pivot 429
How about you?
New TWE Wheels
I recently bought a new set of TWE 29er wheels and after a couple of runs I can say they are great. They have made a considerable improvement to handling and I can really tell the difference between the weight of my old wheels and these new ones, make climbing and lifting the front wheel a lot easier.
I'm glad I bought them.
Trance X 1 issues
Hey All,
Well i finally picked up my new ride last week and over the 5 days i have had it i have managed to do two tracks down in Dwellie and the KC loop, I have to say Giant have done a great job on this bike with the change to make it a 29r, even with the following little issues. I haven't had a huge amount of experience or trials on different bikes but for jumping on for a ride it has felt very controllable.
I have a few little queries though...
1st
Which Shimano Rear Derailleur
Hey all,
So i've smashed my fourth rear derailleur in just over a year today. I had a cage fail on a xtr shadow (with a carbon cage) then bought the same one again and caught a branch that ripped the cage to pieces.. Switched to an xt and a crash took that one out and bent another cage on an xt today thats beyond repair. So ive been having a look online and it seems shimano have stopped developing 3x9 (please correct me if im wrong but i cant find anything new in 9 speed)
Hard Tail recommendations for my 10yo son for Christmas
Hi,
Wanting to get a XS or S 26" hard tail for my 10 year old son for Christmas. It will be his first 26" and want to spend about $400-$500.
Any recommendations??
Thanks
My new ride
Picked up my new ride today, a 2012 Stumpy Comp and can't wait to hit the trails. Thanks to everyone who gave me some advice from my previous post
New forks are sticky
Fox 34 Talas:
Still waiting for a frame to attach the fork to, but working them they feel very sticky. After a few pumps they get smoother but breaking that initial friction always takes a lot of effort, and after hours of no use the travel is... sticky.
Normal?
Reba Dual Air
Has anyone had trouble setting up Reba dual air forks, I just can't seem to get mine right? The Fox forks on my old bike, 5 years old, seem to give a much better ride than my newer Rebas.
Lefty oil leak
Having only returned back to riding after a 4 month layoff.
Noticed the lefty air was all but gone and my front brakes non effective.
Then saw the boot cover covered in grease.
Pulled the boot down to see runny residual oil everywhere.
Read it could be the oil cartridge not being sealed properly.
Cleaned it all up and put some air back in but I worry if I continue to ride it, I may end up with a blow out.
it had only been serviced a few months before by a city LBS.
Any opinions on this?
