Sram and general help
Hi everyone, i've got a few maintenance related questions. I've taken the rear cassette off and i've noticed that theres markings on the hub, im sure its normal but i wasn't sure so i took a few photos.
Im also trying to take my sram crankset off and im not sure how to do it. I noticed theres a hex screw witch im assuming it is but theres also 4 pin holes which i suspect might also be related.
Thanks for the help!
Jono.
Brake Pad Advice
Hi,
Can someone please recommend a good disc brake pad for my MTB? Are disc brake pads a universal fit or does every brand have their own pad? I have 'Hayes Stroker Trail' disc brakes with 200mm rotors front and rear.
My issue is:
- I've had my bike (purchased new with these brakes) for 18months now. When I first got it with very little pressure on the brake levers I could lock up the rear tyre on bitumen, which also meant that they were very touchy offroad (which I prefer it this way).
Budget fork wanted
Hi All.
I'm looking out for a cheap fork for a bike that I'm building up with cast offs.
It is a 20" frame so will need to have a long'ish (220) 1-1/8 steerer, 9mm QR and around 100mm of travel.
Anyone thinking about an upgrade and will want to get rid of their old fork?
Mail me
Cheers
Tony
Issues with 2012 SID XX 120 mm
I recently purchased and fitted 2012 Rockshox SID XX forks. They are 120 mm travel and fit to a scott spark.
Dually 29er reviews
Hi guys
Despite the fact that im looking into a HT 29er, im just wondering whether it would be a good option go dually 29er
So i narrowed down my options and have decieded on going either waiting out for the new 2013 Giant Anthem advanced 29er, or just going for a Scott Spark 29er
Any thoughts would be greatful

Fork Servicing Advice
I've recently noticed that there is a bit of play in my forks. As I've had the bike a year and never serviced the forks, I recon it's probably about time!
Being as though I do all the servicing myself, I thought I'd have a crack at this job too. From what I've read and watched on SRAM's you tube channel, it doesn't look like too much of a complicated job.
Before I get stuck in though, I have a couple of questions. (1) Are the bushes replaceable in my forks and (2) is it OK to go to a motorbike shop and get the shock oil from them as MTB oil ridiculously expensive for what it is?
When cycling is a pain in the bum
www.smh.com.au/executive-style/fitness/blogs/on-.... The right saddle is something that regularly comes up in discussions (and oh so important!) and this is a pretty good, simple article on the subject. Also mentions Blair Martin and Steve Hogg who I know a number of people have recommended to others on this site. In fact, I have an appointment with Blair lined up shortly.
New Ti Frame
Hi ladies and gents, let me show off my new buddy.
Eats singletrack like a clubber eating a kebab at 3:00am.
HA: 67 static 68 sagged
BB: 310 static 305 sagged
CS: 410 SLAMMED
Material: Titanium
Weight: 1.5kg
Drivetrain: Single Speed
Fork: 120 Reba
Wheels: 29 inch
Because of the slacked out geometry there is a bit of steering flop on the straights but once it sees singletrack it just smiles.
And when you are really pinning it through corners and the rear starts sliding it feels in total control drifting around the bends
To 29er or not to 29er?
I am going to do some longer adventure races and want (need) a new bike. I have decided i want dual suspension but now the question is do I go for a 26 or 29"er. Im 5'6" and my riding ability is average and prefere Terry Hills type of riding versus the dam (which I do occasionally). I have tried the Fuel ex9, Specialized Cambo, Giant Anthem all 26ers. My preference was the Anthem as I felt comfortable riding it. One very confused purchaser.
