It's On
Australia Day Morning at the Dam
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
Anyone for a quick lap of the Dam for Australia Day. I'm going to get one in before the day starts. Will be a social ride at a reasonable pace - about 35 - 40 minutes ride time and stops if needed.
Meet at King St by the Lab at 7.15am for 7.30am start.
Mt York Sunday Morning
Mt York Road, in Mount Victoria. You could probably park anywhere along here, and there's a decent sized area (with camping I believe) at the end of this road. That said, the junction with Berghoffer Drive/Lockyers seems the most sensible suggestion.
I know there is already a Knapsack ride on Sunday morning (sorry Andrea).
But Todd and I have been talking about Mt York at the same time so Ill post it up anyway. If anyone wants to join us we are meeting in the gravel carpark, GWH on the right after passing through Mt Vic where the council workers park apparently.
I can't remember what direction we're taking but Todd said an hr up uphill first so those who know the area will know what that means.
Best bet is to PM or ring Todd for directions as that's what Ill be doing.
Cheers,
Ian
Knapsack Sunday Morning
Glenbrook Oval, Hare St, Glenbrook NSW. Near the skate park. Ride down Moore Street to the start of trail that leads into the main park around the gate.
We ask visitors to please park here to not affect the residents. Plenty of parking plus amenities.
I can't make it to the Saturday morning ride due to work commitments, so I'll be heading out Sunday instead. Feel free to join me..
Ourimbah DH ride day Sunday 13 Feb 2011
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.
Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.
CCOMTB will be holding a Downhill social ride day on Sunday 13 February at Ourimbah.
This will be a great opportunity for anyone who wants to have a go at downhill, but who isn't sure if they want to race. For more experienced riders it's a good training day to limber up for the season, and to show off that new race kit that Santa brought you.

Back Yamma Bigfoot 2011
Corner of Back Yamma Road and Parkes Eugowra Road, Eugowra NSW 2806. This is around 25km South of Parkes.
The 2011 event will be held on the 4th September. http://www.backyammabigfoot.com.au/
What is the Back Yamma Bigfoot?
The BYBF is a 25, 50 or 100km MTB enduro in the Back Yamma State Forest. Back Yamma is 20km south east of Parkes, NSW. The race consists of a 50km loop (The Bigfoot) through a relatively flat forest of eucalypts and cypress pine. The course consists of approx. 30km of single track and the rest fire trail. The 25km option (The Little foot) covers the first half of the Bigfoot, while the 100km race (Two Big Feet) consists of two laps of the Bigfoot.
Capital Punishment 2011
Uriarra Road, just up from the Uriarra Road/Coppins Crossing Road turnoff.
Capital Punishment in Canberra, another chance to tear your legs off.
100k or a Cheeky 50k...
Capital Punishment is a 50km and 100km mountain bike enduro.
The Capital Punishment course will take in the best of the Canberra single tracks including Kowen Forest, Majura Pines, Black Mountain and Mt Stromlo. These famous single tracks will be linked via fire trails with only the minimum necessary bitumen. Note that for the 2011 event, Sparrow Hill is unlikely to be included. We are hoping this area will be available again in 2012.
Mount Annan Morning Ride
There's a small parking area on Caley Drive next to the trail head. This is approximately 2.1km South from the larger road junction (circle) at Mt Annan Drive and approximately 1.4km South of the main car park.
Their address is Mount Annan Drive, Mount Annan NSW 2567. See:
Late notice I know but I'm gong to head to Mount Annan after reading some good things about it in this months MBA magazine. Anyone want to join me - I'm flexible on times and if you need a lift from the Inner West I can fit one bike.
Cheers
Dave
