Possum .. One Way rather than Give Way?
I'm hesitant to make any negative comments about the Possum trail because I know it's one man's hard labour but I rode it on the weekend and noticed all the No Entry signs when riding south.
The North section from the Aquatic Bridge running south is a great trail for practicing smooth cornering. When you get it right you can really flow through the corners with little to no pedaling. There are so few corners on the northern beaches and nothing that comes close to the number of linked corners on this trail (certainly not in my experience).
Rain around manly
Anyone been out for a ride today?Im heading northside and just wondering how wet its been and if anything ie serratta or dam is ridable after yest efforts. We didnt get all that much rain over the eastern suburbs.just wondering if its worth throwing the bike in the car, cheers
How much rain
came down on the beaches this morning (plenty in the city where I have to work) and whats the take on riding the Dam/Gahnia/Seratta tomorrow?
Signs to guide people around Bantry Bay loop?
The new Gahnia and Serrata trails have bought many more people to ride in Bantry Bay which is great.
What I've noticed though is that there is no guidance for people to link the trails up... So people are just finding their own way... And the most obvious is to go across the southern oval in Forestville and up the walking trail that links to the Bluff. There's two issues with this:
A. It puts riders onto the same trail in opposite directions
B. It puts riders onto the rockshelf / carvings which are now out of bounds.
Forestville Park Ovals
A bit lost yesterday trying to find Gahnia I ended up on the far side of Forestville Park’s (Ferretville) second oval. One of the club members I know was mowing and waved me around the edge of the oval. That night a Ferret director was at my place and mentioned that the club feel that bikes riding across the oval, on the one track, are doing damage.
Agree with this or not, we should probably not ride across the ovals for “good neighbourly relations”. The long grass has now been cut so it’s easy to ride around the oval’s edge.

If you ride these trails, make sure you take part and give valuable feedback.
Possum
Who built this thing? I want to hug him. Gosh this thing is awesome, just so much fun to ride. With all the "official" trails around I took my time to actually find and ride it but I shouldnt have. This is one of the best trails on the Northern Beaches I think, love it! Thanks!
Condition of cascades??
Just wondering who (if anyone) is responsible for keeping cascades under control. Ive noticed its looking very rough the last few weeks especially around the heath single track loop. I find my bars are a lot wider even though they haven't changed in the last few years :S I understand its single track but there are a lot of sturdy branches poking out.
I would be very happy to assist in a bit of maintenance but just wondering if theres a specific channel i should go through.
Cheers,
Jono.

Loving Bantry Bay Trails
Just want to put it out there that I'm loving the new Bantry Bay trails.
Over the weekend I did 45K's through Bantry Bay & Manly Dam. The Bantry Bay trails are most certainly not firetrail which in my mind is a very good thing. I consider my self a reasonable technical rider and find the new trails, particularly Gahnia, to be challenging, again a very good thing.
The trails will bed in and we'll all get used to the lines over time. I know I will become fitter and a more proficient rider simply by adding this trails into the mix every couple fo weeks,
