Revealed: middle-aged men at most risk on two wheels

Below is a preview, click to read the full post
Men aged between 45 and 64 riding either bicycles or motorcycles are getting seriously injured on Australian roads at significantly higher rates than they were a decade ago. They are also more prone to serious injury than vehicle drivers.

Wow... who'd have thunk!

Get hit when sitting in a car: ding in car.

Get hit when riding a bike: broken bones and torn flesh Sad

Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore, a keen cyclist who has been injured in a crash, said the figures showed the need for better infrastructure for riders.

Family rides near Jindabyne/Snowy Mountains?

Any suggestions for easy/medium level family rides around the Jindabyne/Snowy Mountains area?

We are heading to the Snowies after the Mont, staying at Jindabyne and have 5 days in the local area. Appreciate any suggestions for local trails (both single track and gravel) suitable for our three boys (10, 12, 13) and S.O. Thank you.

Cycleops Jet Fluid Pro Trainer

Anyone have any specific experience with this exact model and if not with one of the Cycleops fluid trainers? I'm aware of the difference between wind/magnetic/fluid/rim/wheel/etc. trainers and as this exact model in on for what seems like a really good deal and interested to know if it is a decent model.

Reflectors get you big air!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Wow, check this out.

Seems some bright spark has come up with an aerodynamic reflector design that helps riders (OK - mostly DH riders) get big air over jumps. They work in the same way as airline wing to generate lift and let riders fly!

Melnob ?

A new job means a new start in Melbourne. Does anyone know of a nonmob equivalent in sunny Melbourne ? And I am also looking for a decent MTB shop. In the two weeks I have been down there I have seen 1,000's of roadies but not a single MTB Sad Any tips on a Bike Addiction equivalent ? Am going to base myself in the Glen Iris / Malvern area. Any ex-Melbourneites that can shed some light on the XC action down south ? Thanks heaps.

Perfect track conditions

Date:
30 Mar 11

After the Rocky Trail weekend I thought the trail would be a tad dusty but a quick storm earlier today made the track ( after it re opened ) feel like riding on rails . Kept on the limit for the bulk of the lap and it just all came together , the grip out there was amazing and my first quick lap with front Small Block Eight as opposed to a Nevagal . I don't think I can get any quicker as I would pass out .... After throwing up ...

Mont 24 Team Member wanted

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

We have a team of six in The Mont - all of decent fitness, most have raced one way or another, and whilst we may not necessarily win, we are definitely going in it to have a go. Due to unfortunate circumstances one of our team has had to drop out so we are looking for someone keen to join the "Uncredibles". We pretty much have the camping and other gear that we will need and just need a keen human with a bike!
