Crosspost from Rotorburn
All local Syd riders
Council have given us the greenlight to start building the pumptrack and skills park at Sailors Bay Rd Northbridge
work starts on the Tues 28th and will be carried out by a professional trail building company, with enough volunteers there is no reason why we cant knock this over by the weekend, minus a few tweaks here and there
If you could kindly lend us a hand for a few hrs on any of the days between Tues - Sun, let me know
the roster so far is on this thread on rotorburn

Another 19th hole victim...:(
Well i rode Manly Dam this morning before work and whoa i was failing badly, started off with the seat post height wrong so strained a leg muscle, then hit a deep hole at the rocks after Eva's junction (managed to jump off and run forward here)... but my worst fail came when i tried the 19th hole (not exactly focused on it either) and managed a beautiful OTB and bit the dirt!! (thanks kindly to the two cyclists who were there to check if i was O.K, much appreciated)

Ourimbah outing
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here).
Hoping my racing ralph arrives in time, nobby nic has arrived, forgotten what it's like to ride an mtb so should be interesting, don't follow my lead!

Portal Trail, Moab, Utah
Someone was asking about Moab trails in the US recently... check this out:
A very technical trail with some major exposure that descends from the top of Poison Spider Mesa to the Colorado River. Done at the tail end of an epic ride from Gemini Bridges to Gold Bar Rim to Blue Dot. A must do for anyone craving a technical, ledgy downhill trail. Short but worth it.

Springwood Country Club, Hawkesbury Rd, Springwood
As some may know, the National Parks and Wildlife Service has released a discussion paper on mountain biking opportunities in the state's national parks and reserves. They have invited comment on the proposals in the paper and help shape our Cycling Policy and Mountain Biking Strategy. This paper can be downloaded here:

Although no official communication has been made, we have it on good authority that this date/time/place is set for the Springwood public forum on this topic.
