Andersons, St Helenas (out and back) and Oaks
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
This will be a minimal stop ride at a moderate pace.
Ideally we will do Andersons, St Helenas (out and back) and then the rest of the Oaks.
Please remember we will be catching a train at 6:52am
Cya all there.

Fiji
Went riding in Fiji today.
Sketchy cheapo Learsport hardtail witrh dodgy gears and brakes, helmet that was too big.
Found some sick trails though, steep, rocky, loose, rutted double track going straight up a mountain ridge. Awesome views of the coast and reefs.
Be great one day to come back with a real bike and do some real riding. If my little outing is any indication, there must be some awesome riding around here!
I'm off for a Fiji Bitter now...

the grand daddy race - who's in?
Of course we are starters - never done it before but know others who have - moves them to tears
Cool video as well

Ourimbah Singletrack & DH fun
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Park on Red Hill Forest Rd, roughly 400m in.
Red Hill Forest Rd is sign posted, unsealed road that runs off Yarramalong Rd.
Around 300-400m in you should approach an open/parking area.
Note: If the road starts elevating steeply you've gone too far.
Planning some laps of the very nice singletrack stuff, incorporating the XC loop. Afterwards if possible some of the DH track using shuttling.
No mean pace, just a fun ride for all fitness and skill levels.
All welcome.

Manly Dam
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Peter is on his way back from Byron an asked me to post this ride - it will be Manly Dam, Bantry Bay and a stop off at Eurofest in Frenchs Forest...Knowing Peter this won't be a super slow ride...

Time to return the social
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
20km/hr, what tha? Time to return the social aspect of the midweek night ride. Where better to do that than Oxford Falls.
Close enough to the Tavern to head up for a beer after or bring one along for mid ride refreshments.
Start with Moon Rocks then back up to XC. Option of Rd to somewhere or little moab depending on group size and timing.
Welcome aboard Caro, expect to see you there now you have the lights.
Time for you to come out again Tien, and bring your wallet
Ev, where have you been, come and have some fun.

Oh the chain, the chain
Has anyone ever experienced any shifting problems with an HG93 chain? I recently swapped the running gear (except derailleurs) from one bike to another recently purchased (2nd hand), including my HG93 chain. All the shifting problems I had with my previous bike have been transferred to my current bike. I only swapped a new XT cassette and cogs + the chain. Talking to Tien, he said he had similar problems that were solved when he replaced his 93 chain with another brand. I bought a few of these chains from torp 7 for $20 and don't want to buy another chain unless I have to.

Wildside MTB in TAS in Jan 08

Seemed like a good idea at the time........... :-/

What's Red Hill looking like at the mo?
Maybe riding there on Sunday, has anyone been there lately and care to advise what state it's in? Is it still a muddy mess?
Ta,
Matt.
