Manly Dam update for 28 Sep

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

A big tree has come down right at the entrance to the single track connect just after the bowling club.

Lots of other branches etc on the track from the high winds today.

Otherwise as dry as a bone.

Do you have more information?

Stolen Rare Norco 29er -- please look out for it -- photo attached!

Hi all,

Last night, someone broke into my lockup garage in my apt building and stole 3 mountain bikes.

One is my (expensive) favourite son: an Orange and Black Norco Revolver 29er -- you can't miss the paint job and its a pretty rare bike.

Please respond to this forum or to me directly if you happen to see one like it on the trails or advertised for used sale anywhere.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The attached is a stock photo -- I don't have a photo of mine. Bought it from The Bike Shed Mortdale -- it's 2012 Norco Revolver 1 29er model, 17.5" frame.

Old Man's Valley Ride - This Sunday!

Hi All,
Ive probably posted this in the wrong area. But now that I have I may as well keep going.

Im going to be out on the Old Man's Valley tomorrow, sunday 29th September

I'll probably be there at around 9:30AM.

PLAN: A SHORT RIDE FOR ABOUT 2 - 2.5 HOURS. (Have to get back to pick up the Mrs from her beginners MTB clinic at Jubes)

Never ridden the track before so would be great to meet up with someone who has.

I've ridden for many years, although haven't been on the saddle for about 4 months, so itching to get back.

Hopefully see some of you there : )

SOLA sport - Fox distributor - thank you

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just a quick thank you to SOLA sport, distributors of Fox (amongst other things)

After an online rant about my creaky forks, I was contacted by Gavin from SOLA sport
He apologised for the problem and offered to fix the forks at no cost

I sent them to SOLA, and in less than 1 week turnaround I have received what is essentially new forks!
Upgraded to kashima coated with a new talas cartridge and no creak
They have cleaned them up and look absolutely sensational
The only thing that stopped me falling over when I took them out of the box was the danger of scratching them

Wiggle Australia price match plus 10% off promise

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

While we encourage everyone to support local bike shops... it's understandable people shop around on-line for deals from time to time.

Right now Wiggle.com.au have a great price promise running: for delivery to Australia, they will not only match, but promise to beat any price inclusive of delivery by 10%.

Note that CRC have up to 50% off Shimano this weekend, and with Wiggle pledging to beat any advertised price... you know what that means! Laughing out loud

BTW, this covers everything Wiggle sell, I only mention Shimano as an example. Details on the promise are here:

Kiwarrak State Forest update for 26 Sep

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Fires raging at Purfleet have closed the Pacific Highway a couple of clicks east. Even if you could get to the trail I'd suggest it would be unwise to be in the vicinity.
