Wildflower Garden update for 26 Sep
Aside from the chainsaw work mentioned elsewhere, the sniggle is all in good nick, apart from a couple of bits which are getting a bit rutted out.

Cascades update for 26 Sep
Rode Upper and Lower Cambourne, Quarry Track and Linigen Pl tracks today. All good. Work has finished on the Linigen Pl track and it is now a lot less technical, with a few pretty steep water bars. Not really an improvement for mtb, but the fire tankers will love it. Haven't quite fixed the wet patches either...

Royal National Park Trail Maintenance
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Royal National Park Area Office
Sorry - cancelled due to staff being called away to deal with bushfires.
Royal National Park trail days currently take place every 3rd Saturday of the month, 9am, meeting at the Royal NP Area Office (on Farnell Ave).
The days generally involve track maintenance works and the purpose is a partnership between NPWS and mountain bike riders to undertake works to allow the continued sustainable use of the tracks for mountain bike riders.
Lady Carrington Drive
Pretty much as easy a mountain bike ride as you will find in Sydney, this out and back is perfect for beginners.
If driving to the start, parking can be found at the Royal National Park Visitor Centre just next to the Audley Crossing. As this is a visitor's centre it has toilets, a small refreshments kiosk, etc.
So starting at the Northern end, follow this super easy out and back along the firetrail by the Hacking River. There's nothing technical here at all so this ride is perfect for beginners.

Overnight Rides
I got a message from a friend asking for any suggestions for places to do a multi day ride where they take tents and camp. Me being the race junkie I am, doing those types of rides are about the last thing on my mind, and I have no idea myself where a good place to do such a ride is but was wondering if anyone had any ideas of a good overnight (I guess one or two days) ride and how to do it. Thoughts that jump to mind are Northern Blue Mtns (the Bells Line side) and GNR up north to Bucketty, but are there any ideas of whether this is worthwhile?
Cheers, Tristan

Great Cycle Challenge Oct 2013
Hello
Just wondering if anyone else is doing the Great Cycle Challenge next month?
https://greatcyclechallenge.com.au/Pages/About
I've pledged to ride 1000km for the month and to kick it off I'm going to try and ride 100km at Ourimbah next Tue, so if anyone has the time and they feel like keeping me company over a lap of two, pop on up/down.
Cheers
Geoff
