Mt Annan
Morning all
To those of you that ride Mt Annan on a regular basis is there a loop that can be done that would be great for a first time rider?
I would really like my girlfriend to get into mountain biking but given Mt Annan may be her first off road ride its probably going to be a bit of a struggle. IIRC its fairly hilly and a pretty decent workout for even the more seasoned riders.

Rear derailleur advice
Hi everyone,
I had a big damage on my rear derailleur yesterday (a tree branch broke it ! damn it) so it is time to buy another one. Previously I had a 9-speed SRAM X5, provided with my TREK6000 series. I don't mind shimano or SRAM or whatever... What sort of good one you guys can advise for roughly 100doll (+/- 50) ?
I've seen chainreactioncycles has a pretty good range of derailleurs but the question is which one to pick up...

Mount Annan Botanic Garden update for 04 Nov
Smooth as silk and hardly any dust to contend with at all .
Great conditions if not a tad warm , heard a couple of Snakes and had a baby rabbit nearly dropped on us by a little eagle

NSW XCO Championships
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.
Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.

Lane Cove National Park update for 04 Nov
Still mostly dry today, just a few small puddles. Plenty of mounting bikers out enjoying the weather - I saw one group of about 15.

Manly Dam update for 04 Nov
Even after last nights rain. I though it might be risky. But it was perfect. I got there reasonably early. But parking was at a premium at King Steet or anywhere in that area. LOL
There must have had some rowing championship at Manly Dam itself. I enede up finding a single park at Manly Vale Primary.
Manly Dam Loupe was fine. Bit slippery on the 19th hole but that could have been because of my shagged tyres. Weather turned out really nice half way through the morning.
Butcher at Gibbs behaved as well.
