Why I love mtb'ers and mtb'ing!
Went for what was meant to be a relaxing ride around the dam yesterday when my brothers chain busted out on the halfway mark to the dot. Not having a chain link we decided it was best if I continue on as quick as possible. A couple of k's later and my tyre blows. Looking like a numpty as to why the tyre wouldn't pull off the rim to chuck the spare on a very nice bloke stopped and helped swap the tube over and get on my way.

(Sat 12 Nov) Excellent conditions. I was Informed club races on tomorrow (Sun) in morning so if you wish to ride here, suggest you arrange 12:30pm onwards unless you wish to join the XC racing.

glenrock trails
stumbled across glen rock today(am staying with a friend at cowrie hole and went for an urban ride,ended up at a trailhead somehow...)so started riding it without realising where i was.Another rider gave me a brief description of the place-thankyou dude on the cannon dale hard tail w head shock ,your directions were idiot(me)proof and i found my way easily.Part of the reason of coming to newcastle was to ride these trails for the first time ,guessing i might have covered a third of it today.not overly techy,but how cool ripping down single track with glimpses and some times full blown views

The Oaks update for 12 Nov
Really green, with only 2 (nearly dry) mud puddles on the singletrack (though it's getting a bit worn in places and some sandpits developing, The firetrail also is a little rougher than usual in places, but not too bad).
However work is being done on the singletrack tomorrow ( Sunday 13/11), so will be at least partial closures of that section for that day.

Where to get cleat screws?
Hi Team
One of my cleat screws fell out the other day so I just need to get a replacement and maybe a spare or two for the box. Are they a standard size that I can pick up from a fastener supplier or will a LBS have some without screwing me on price?

TWE Wheels
I've seen the TWE ads in the local mountain bike mags and read some good feedback on this forum of their wheels. Recently I sold my race wheels and decided to do the Fling this weekend on my huck set which are the same as the race set just older.
Tuesday morning on a ride I noticed my rear wheel had a wobble which was caused by the internals of the hub. Oh crap!
So close to race day and no spare wheel! I decided to call TWE and spoke to Greg on Tuesday. I explained my need for a new wheel, gave my spec's and he built it that night. I collected it yesterday and am ready for race day.
Torq gels in city
Does anyone know if anyone stocks torq gels in the city ?
I have just realized I have runout and need some for the weekend.
