Menai (Lucas Heights) update for 26 Jun

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Significant improvement and most of the trails are dry..... However there is some very wet parts. Also there were about 20 motorbikes carving up the trails. This has resulted in some deep, wet and significant ruts, mainly up the top. Muddiest my bike have ever been because of these small sections.

Manly Dam update for 26 Jun

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

As per yesterday's status still orange due to the state of the trail after the school. Apart from that all good.

The works completed so far a great! B line on the 2nd technical climb after the golf corse rock has been closed. But a line slightly modified and with the board fixed it's now do-able ( well for me anyway... This and the 6th a line at 19th hole were the only section I don't ride)

Any wY worth a ride if you're happy to clean your bike

What difference does a longer stem make?

Hi Folks,

What difference to the handling will it make going from a 90mm stem to a 130mm stem. If it matters this will be on an Anthem x29er and I ordered the wrong length stem and am trying to understand what it will mean for the feel of the bike.

[Mod. moved to MTB gear - the question relates to an Anthem 29er]

Manly Dam update for 25 Jun

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Went for a lap today around 2.30 and was pleasantly surprised.

Usual puddles here and there, but on the whole good. As mentioned somewhere, there is a bog not long after Manly Vale school, lots of track widening there but also signs of issues riding through the bog (broken bits, strange tyre marks in odd directions etc) Really only making it amber because of this bog.

The fixing of all the boardwalks was also very welcome, will be sending an email shortly to congratulate the council.

Mount Annan Botanic Garden update for 25 Jun

Status:
Green/Open

The track is still greasy in quite a few places and dry and dusty in others . Would pay to do a sight lap before hitting it too hard . It's a few nice days away from being it's fastest .

Appin update for 25 Jun

Area:
Appin
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Rode Appin this morning. After a dry week with a bit of wind I was expecting a dry track. The water seems to be seeping up from the sandstone base below the trail surface and from the top down in some areas. It was significantly wetter than I expected, so much so that we didn't do the Rock Wallaby extension because of the boggy areas in that part. The first creek crossing also seemed higher on our second lap. It is definitely the wettest I've ever seen Appin while riding, especially around the second half of the loop.
