Terrey Hills update for 12 Jun

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Perimeter was mostly OK, with some muddy spots to challenge your bike skills.

Nevertheless, giving it an orange as most of our group's transmissions sounded somewhere between sick and very sick from all the sand grinding away in the chain. Hope I haven't destroyed mine... 'tis relatively new. Sticking out tongue

Duck Holes and Centre were both pretty good today - a much better option after all the recent rains.

Centre Track update for 12 Jun

Area:
Centre Track
Status:
Green/Open

Am gonna give this a green as although it's not totally dry, is certainly rideable and a lap of Duck Hole/Centre left minimal mud on the bike.

Cascades update for 11 Jun

Area:
Cascades

Green/Open

The trail was in good shape after heavy rain we've had. I was surprised in its condition. I'm going to be optimistic and give it a GREEN!

Orimbah for the ones who have had a few weeks off the bike due to rain

When:
Saturday, 12 June, 2010 - 09:00

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Ourimbah State Forest
Meeting Point:

Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here).

Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where a there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB sign here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up). Park up nose to curb or as directed.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Due to all the wet whether and other commitments if have been off my bike for about a month or so and want to ease back into it with one of my favorate trails. This is not for beginners even though its mostly ridable, there are some long down hill sections and i only really want to be waiting at the top of hill (or people waiting for me at the top of hills).
Plan on doing 2 laps and time will tell if i can get a 3rd in.

Belrose River?

One of my colleagues just sent this mail... stay away from trails in the area Eye-wink

I’ll be working from Home today to supervise Sydney Water as they dig up my backyard in search of the blockage that is causing the river of poo flowing thru Belrose.

Cracked frame Mark II

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just thought i'd post the photos of my Scott Nitrous 20 having cracked for the second time.

It cracked over a year ago and i got it welded back together but the crack recently opened up again after I started doing some serious DH on it.

The below photos show the front triangle only and the crack. The crack actually extended around the other side as well but was hairline thin.
