To bring my bike or buy?
Heading to BC Canada for 5 weeks riding in July/Aug. Was planning to bring my bike but someone suggested I could buy a new bike over there for much less than here - ride it - bring it back to Oz and sell it for more than I'd pay.
Has anyone done this? Is it true? Any advice? Could you recommend any LBS in Vancouver or Whistler that sells Norco?
Any info much appreciated

We have an injured team mate (dislocated shoulder training at the dam) hence we have an opening in a 3 man team to make 4 at the MONT this weekend! All the costs of riding have been covered..
We are 30-35 years of age mid level riders out to try and set some lap records (yeah right) having a whole lot of fun along the way.
Please PM or post response if at all interested.

Cycling Fitness
What are some good exercises to keep fit for cycling other than the obvious running? Thinking some sprinting, squats, squat jumps.
I’m going on holidays and can’t take the bike but want to keep my fitness up for the DW 50.

Whistler/Rotorua/WSN Belrose Comparison
Over the years there's been bit of enthusiasm about the potential for MTB activities at the WSN Site at Belrose (aka. Belrose Tip). Obviously, any development that works for mountain bike riders is a good thing, and broadly supported by the MTB community.
Unfortunately, when I looked into this one in a bit more detail, I started to get a little worried that we might be focusing too much effort on a project that just can't work out was we might have hoped.

Knock off Shimano chains?
Anyone ever heard of counterfeit Shimano chains? I bought a CNHG73 from eBay and it looks very questionable: the stampings and riveting are far less perfect than they normally are for Shimano. It measures up OK, and is definitely a new bicycle chain (unfortunately the wrong bloody size: they mailed me an 8 speed...), but the attention to detail suggests a fake. Surely no one would bother?
I'll try and post an image if anyone's interested.
It was bloody cheap, by the way. Still, I think I might stick to T7 in future.

Wheelset / Handlebar and Stem
Hi all,
Well after an unfortunate events on the weekend, and a very lucky outcome to my bike falling of a mates bike rack on the M4. I think being midnight and not much traffic played a part in my bike being relatively in one piece.
(Bike is 2009 stump jumper elite)
The problem, i am in the Mont on Saturday/Sunday and I am in need of some replacement parts for my bike. I was hoping to get these alot cheaper but i am strapped for time so I will be going thru the local bike shop.
