Enduro: New Rotors Magura Venti 203 mm

New rotors for the Enduro: Magura Venti for the Marta's

After I dinged my front rotor at the recent Fling training ride I got hold of these Magura Venti rotors...203 mm and 185 mm.

Good braking power - "improved cooling due to the ventilator shaped centre."

Shimano XT Ring Bolts (annoying version)

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

On the left... a nice and easy, 'remove it with 2 hex keys', ring bolt.

On the right... an annoying as all *%^#, 'you need a special tool or 3 hands and a screwdriver, plus lots of time and patience' ring bolt. This particular one is from an XT crankset ('08 vintage I believe).

Cascades update for 09 Dec

Area:
Cascades
Status:
Green/Open

Dry as a bone here. Been some fire in the area at the Davidson exit since I was last there. Very different with the thick bush gone and views deeper into the trees.

With the exception of the firetrail behind the gun club (which is only a little boggy) perfectly dry here.
