Horses @ Terrey Hills

Anybody know if there tend to be many horses on the Perimiter / Long track early morning, between 7-8am?
Thought I might go for a quick blast out and back before work rather than the road option round akuna bay.
Cheers

Slowly getting quicker

Date:
7 Dec 09

No warm up and legs were stinging a few minutes into it! Felt better after 10 minutes and started pushing harder.
My goal is to get average speed >20km/h and time under 1 hour Smiling
Might try again in a few weeks...

Nice and quiet out there today but a bit hot.

Cowan Track now MTB Permitted

Just back from a ride at Terrey Hills and I noticed there are now signs at the entry to Cowan Track saying "MTB Bikes Permitted".

Good stuff!

Many thanks to all involved, much appreciated Smiling

I am taking a new rider friend. Based on 05/12/09 ride with same friend, the trip from Woodford to Glenbrook will take 2.5hrs.

This is an ideal invitation for someone that wants to try the Oaks Trail but for one reason or another is uncomfortable starting it alone. You will be more than welcome to stay with me and anyone else that turns up for all or part of the ride but I will stay with the slowest rider(s).

Top Day Out

What a great afternoon and evening of riding and racing.

And a really nice change to ride in conditions that weren’t like a blast furnace. I went back to my tried and true strategy of just enjoying the ride and saving the racing if there was to be any for the last lap or two and it worked as I was able to finish the race with a quick lap and some solid uphill climbing to hold on for second place.

Lots of fun and a great short track that really was very enjoyable.

Round 2 - Sunday 17th Jan.

Urban Polaris 2009

Well, another great day riding around canberra. I'd been suffering from a migraine Friday and Saturday so really took it easy on the day to try to keep the heartrate down.

We got a good start following a couple of locals who knew some great shortcuts.

total fire ban

Garigal has "Total fire ban- no access" signs up at the Wyatt Ave entry at the start of the Heath/Bare Creek track at Belrose. There is nothing about it on the DECC website. I was a bit pissed off but turned back. Is this NPWS's usual trick of putting up a sign and leaving it there for weeks on end way after the event ?
