Terminal Velocity!!!! Post Fling blowout
That was as fast as we can possibly travel, brakes were glowing, tyres were melting, heart was trying to climb out of my chest and all I did was a 32:30...are you kidding me!! I was hoping for a 31something and although the dam was v.busy and I had to stop to check everything was tight at back (felt very loose), and for a dog walker on the final concrete dip bridge before hydro center there is no way it was 30seconds worth. That has to be terminal velocity for me and Gary. I had aspirations of sub 31min before NY but I was dreaming.

Late afternoon at the Dam
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
For those not working, or that can slink off early a few late afternoon laps of the dam might be in order.
Only plan on staying a couple hours so lights will not be required.
This will be socially paced so come on over!

Cheap commuter anyone?
How on earth do they do this?

EC Alloy Road Frame with Carbon Seat Stays: $89.99
The matching fork is $119:

I'd guess the answer is that it would be a bit floppy?

The old man finally breaks 34 mins
Perfect conditions apart from a few puddles. Could shave a few more seconds off but it'll be difficult.

Manly Dam update for 11 Nov
Had a spin yesterday (Tuesday) and all is good and dry.

German cyclist sets Australian crossing world record
This is absolute insanity:
German cyclist Guido Kunze set a new world record after crossing southern Australia by bicycle, covering 4,200 kilometres in seven days, 19 hours and 5 minutes

There's more here:
http://www.shimano.com.au/publish/content/global...
So that's 4200km in near enough 187 hours. Including stops it's 22km/h average!

Bike travel bags
For anyone who doesn't know me:
My name is Alex Wagner, 17y/o, School Student in Blue Mountains. I have been racing MTB's for around 7 years now.
I have achieved some pretty good results, around Australia and also overseas, New Caledonia.
Back on topic:
I'm preparing to do the 2009/10 National MTB Series. The first round is in Glenorchy, Tasmania.
The only way of getting there is by plane, my problem is I don't have anyway of taking my bike onto the
plane safely. Does anyone have or know of anyone who would be able to lend me a bike bag, box etc?
