Cracked Scott Spark frame - not 1 but 2!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just wondering if anyone has experienced any problems with the Scott Spark frames? I purchased a Spark 50 about 6 months ago and the rear triangle cracked completely through on the bottom stay close to the main frame. Had the rear triangle replaced and frame upgraded to a Spark 40. Have ridden the bike maybe half dozen times around manly Dam Terry Hills etc. Last weekend the frame cracked in exactly the same place on the rear triangle after about the same amount of riding as the first round.

Oaks up and back.

This was my very first oaks up and back. I recall a moment a few years ago of me telling my friend Megan Dimozantos that she was mad and id never do that in a million years. At the time i used to ride twice a year off road. it took that long to forget how hard it was.
And today was an absolutely brilliant ride. i loved every minute of it. and only just over an hour on the train from the city means I'll be doing that more often for sure.
Im feeling ready for the Angry Doctor. and the fling. and...?

Oaks up and back.

Exact Distance:
54Km

Start on the road opposite the Glenbrook train station.
(due to the distinct possibility of a head on collision with another bike coming down the single track i chose the road all the way to the bottom gates of the oaks. those of you locals who are there at 6 am I'm sure you'll ride up the single)
Continue all the way to the top gates of the oaks fire trail. Turn around and head back the way you came.
Don't stop the timer until you get outside the Glenbrook train station.

Car Bike Rack Recommendations

Hi all

I have recently upgraded my bike to a yeti 575. As a result my previous tow bar mounted bike rack which requires a flat top tube no longer is suitable for the Yeti.

I would prefer to continue with a tow bar mounted rack rather then a roof mounted rack.

Can anyone suggest a tow bar mounted rack that works well with dual suspension bike, with no flat top tube ? Any ideas or recommendations are appreciated.

Doctor's Switched?

See the Angry Doctor profile here:

http://www.arocsport.com.au/MTBenduro/mtbenduro_...

Erm... isn't this the other way round to the previous year? The second half looks easier. Even though they say the profile hasn't been updated for 11 months. Confused? Eye-wink

Ah... I see they updated it 31/8/09 and now looks more like the description.
