Giant Trance X range
Hey all. I know there's been a shedload of talk about the Trance range and other similar bikes on the site lately, so i hope i don't tip people over the edge with another query. I know people's opinion of a bike is largely personal to the point where some consider the X0 to be xc/trail and others would call it all mountain, but what's going on with these AMB reviews?...

32 t or 34 t on rear cassette?
Opinions please...
I am about to order a 11-32 teeth SRAM PG 990 rear cassette...on special at CRC..
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?m...
My Enduro has 11-34 as standard...how noticable is the difference?
http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spi...
Riding style is mainly XC ...and I haven't run out of low gearing yet on the current 11-34 ratio...
What is your view / experience on this?
Thx Hans

Happiness is a warm shock.
The Grotto
Single track section of Blue Gum Swap Trail. At the South end of this there is a tough climb out over technical rocks up to the school.
Rough Route to Blue Gum
From behind the schools outdoor squash court this trail runs down a steep and rocky hill to meet up with Blue Gum Swamp Trail.
Shaws Ridge
Although Google says this is Blue Gum Swamp Trail signs at this location name it Shaws Ridge. That makes a lot more sense as it runs along the ridge.
Pretty much your average firetrail - the climb/descent at the North end is pretty steep though.
Blue Gum Swap
Although the topo map says Blue Gum Swamp trail runs along the ridge line just to the East of this valley, signs at the location seem to suggest this trail down in the valley is Blue Gum Swap.
Mixture from firetrail in the North, to thinner, almost single track in the middle opening up a bit to almost firetrail again at the South end.

Manly Dam endurance training ride (Dam IS open)
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
A solid paced training ride in preparation for the Stromlo 8hr next week.
I expect to be turning out 45-50 min laps for up to 5 hrs depending on the conditions.
It will be a consistent pace, no intentional stopping, apart from food/water top-ups every couple of laps.
I'm happy for anyone to join in/drop off for laps as suits, will be coming past the car park every 45-50 min or so (unless we have a mechanical or other unforeseen event). A good level of fitness and bike handling skill required.
Maintenance on Dam is finished (This morning), so the full loop is open.

Awaba trail Photos and Build Day Info
For anyone interested, or with nothing better to do, the next build day is on this sunday (17th August) at 8am.
The following is from a club email.
Hi all track builders!
I am sure you have by now heard that the track construction has been progressing very nicely. We have had some keen volunteers turning up and landing a helping hand, so much thanks must go out to all that have assisted so far. Unfortunately it has been the same faces and we will burn them out pretty quickly without your help.
