Six foot track

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Today I did the 6 foot track with Leon.

WE didn't ride all the way, just to the top of the first hill. WE rode from Megalong Valley, doing 25km all up. It was a surporisingly tiring ride.

THe views were spectacular, and the weather was interesting.
The descent from 700m -300m was fantastic. By the end I was going as fast as I could. My front tyre had a low enough pressure that when I applied my front brakes hard, it would fold a little, like a drag car tyre.

Garmin Edge Training Center - Please assist

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

The standard map in Garmin Training Center is crappy. Yes I know I can view it in Google earth but it looks like a million little photos laid down instead of a nice red/purple line. Please, I have been reading GPS and mapping forums and BS for about 2 hours. Save me! All I want to do is d/l a map and stick it in the Garmin folder and see a better map in Training Center. I never new the world of GPS was infinitely complicated.

A map with some topo lines would be nice, and a few more streets than the basic map shows.

Terry Hills BMX Track for dirt jumps!

When:
Saturday, 16 August, 2008 - 10:00

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Meeting Point:

Meet at Terry Hills BMX Track. Its at Melbourne Memorial Reserve on Aumuna Rd just off Mona Vale Road.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Well i've got zero dirt jumping experience and have been wanting to try it for a lot time, so have decided to give it a go. Terry Hills BMX Track is well maintained, smooth, safe and flowing and i think is a great place to build up some skills and confidence. You can also roll everything and just pedal/pump the track which would in itself be good fun/practice.

If you would like to join me see you there at 10am this Saturday. I will be on my white & black NS street bike (in my sig)

Cheers, Smiling

Matt P's 'neatly' sewn up shin

Please note the dollar coin for scale Eye-wink

Whilst this looks like it's been sewn up by a blind man in an earthquake, it's a damn good job considering the pervious carnage!

Take note kids - shin pads are the future
