A dilemma?
I have a conundrum.
If I ever had the moolah, as a 6ft 7 bloke, where could I find a full suspension bike?

I could get 29 inch wheels.
They could build a Rohloff friendly frame for me.
I would be in heaven.

We made good time with a group of 7.
two mechanicals as Phil's shock sprung a leak before we even started. A quick pit stop at insane to swap it for a shock I had spare... 5 km he managed to kill that on too. So he went home swapped bikes and caught back up to us at the second wash out.
The State MX titles were on at Clarence so a few more Motos up on top than usual but once past the Bungleborrie we had left them behind.
Downhill Bog
Taken 28 Jun '08. Hasn't rained for over a week and has been warm and sunny since then.
Clearly this one of the sections of Manly Dam requiring the most attention. This is on the downhill from parkway to creek, just before the left/right final bend. I'm sure if you are familiar with the dam you know this spot.

I found out the hard way that Slippery Dip has had some water bar work recently. Can't remember how long I was in the air but I know I landed front wheel first and came to a stop 36 meters from the jump. How much of that was sliding on the ground I can't say but I split my helmet, tore all of my clothes and have cuts and bruises on every part of my body. I remember the helmet going "sqoosh" as it absorbed the impact and then waiting for it all to stop. Reckon I must have been going over 40kph but will have to check the GPS to be sure.

This time I'll be doing the Western Commission Track, then going up the Great North Road to Mogo Creek Road. Will turn around and come back down the GNR to finish via the 'fun technical stuff' and Shepherd's Gully.
Should work out about 85k's, 90% off road.

A mountain biking project in southern Scotland has been credited with generating £9m annual visitor income and more than 200 new jobs. The 7stanes scheme covering Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders was first set up six years ago. A survey commissioned by Forestry Commission Scotland shows visitor numbers have now hit 400,000-a-year.
Environment Minister Mike Russell said the area had become a "world class mountain biking destination".
